I was just thinking, so stand back (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif), the next version we're getting tanks and 1/2 tracks. These things are pretty slow right? It's going to take a heck of a long time just to drive to a field that's 25 miles away. Are we going to get some sort of glider or big troop transport? will a tank fit in a C-47?
Just imagine a group of 15 C47's towing gliders full of people. OHHH MAN!! what a bounce!

I think we are going to get a new map layout in next version.

What torque says, and I think that vehicle depots will be closer "to the front lines" than the Army base depot, City, etc. is now.
You can also bet that this will be a 'beta' run for HTC since they've never used vehicles in the strat of a flight combat sim, so, we get to expose alot of 'glitches' that can't be foreseen until its tested, that should keep this board alive for awhile!

yes but how far will it be to the rear fields? These things won't do 20mph will they? I'd hate to drive for an hour only to get "busted" buy some hot shot flyboy 5 miles from the target. I'd rather fly for 15 min in the back of a glider and get shot down by said hot shot flyboy (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

I think the HTC crew know that too Udie. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

Forward factories and depots were mentioned earlier. Check pyro's postings.

Hey how about trains going from base to base and to citys, Factories, and so on. Could even have ack on them (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

These tanks wouldn't fit into a 47 or a glider. They were simply too heavy for air transport during WWII.
I've often wondered how the vehicles would be implimented in a manner to add to the strat... I'm still wondering.
I think allowing the aa vehicles to make it to an enemy field will cause problems in the long run. The tanks should be allowed to traverse the distance... or have it made so the distance isn't so long.
Taking down a city with tanks would just be too cool. But if that is possible... when would troop transporst (maybe just a duece and a half) be available to bring troops in to capture a field closed by ground fire?

The vehicle depots will be scattered all over the map as well as at airfields. We're going to try and make depots close enough to make the ride in a vehicle about as long as a flight to another field. I'm about to start working on a new terrain in the coming days. It will be much more suited to the vehicles, but I'm not going to forget some cool mountains and canyons too. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

One question though : In tanks , will there be an option to ride with the Turret open ? Meaning not having to look through the "periscope"....maybe implement an external view only when the turret is open ?

Mr Art Director,
Will there be bridges? I thing it would be cool to blow the bridges to prevent vehicles from reaching certain parts of the battlefield.
I would also like to see little ittie bittie Knight and Bishop townfolk running out of the villages as my Panzers roll into and over their pathetic countries. hehee

Mountains and canyons could work for vehicles, too. I can envision a network of narrow canyons that would offer vehicles some cover from fighters, while enroute to enemy territory, or a central "tank battleground".
Also, a forest could offer vehicles cover from aircraft, although I don't know if it would be difficult to implement one. Imagine a tree covered plateau overlooking an airfield. Get a couple of tanks up there....
