August 9th 1781

Trumbull vs. Iris and General Monk.

     The Continental frigate Trumbull,28, Captain James Nicholson, strikes her colors after an hour's action off the Delaware Capes with the British frigate Iris,32,(formerly the Continental frigate Hancock) and brig, General Monk.

Just the first in a series I thought I'd start...This is what happened today. We won the revolution but you can't expect that we won every battle.
