Title: Sick and Tired
Post by: Preon1 on August 09, 2004, 12:33:51 PM
I'm sick and tired of the campaign 2004 play by play on this board.  Are any of the people reading these posts going to change thier vote because of what they see here?

Is it just me, or was there greater variation in the O'Club threads prior to the Dems primary?  I used to come here to read about the latest jokes, games, and equipment to be seen on the internet.  Sure, there was a random world or national event that warranted a thread, but look how many bush/kerry threads there are right now!  It's like rereading all the talking points from Hannity and Colmes.  It's stupid!

Guess I'll just have to find me another board.  Anybody know any good ones?

It's been like this since 11/2000 when the sore losers blew a gasket.

Like I said before...what are they gonna do if Kerry loses. Say it wasn't fair like Al potato did?

The Dem's appear to be in panic mode, the good side is just eating it up.

What planet are you on? Exactly why woud Democrats be in a panic? Are you privy to some polls that the rest of the country is missing?

Once again conveniently forgetting the Clinton years.

You guys were losing your minds.... daily... hourly... for months and months on end.

Gimme a break about this starting after Bush took office. You were here dude.

It is an attempt to influence the swing votes on the BBS.  Who knows...it could really matter, particularly in Florida.:)

The threads about politics are pretty easy to spot- why not  pass over them if you are bored with it. If it makes it easier, I'll put (P) for political in the subject head for any I start.

Once again conveniently forgetting that the volume of Bushwhining is about 10 times greater than the volume of Clintonwhining.  All the threads are still there.  Just go back and view them chronologically.  This board was never a political whinefest until the Sore-Loserman camp turned it into one.

Leave Florida out of it...It wasn't Floridians that were making mistakes on the ballot...It was all the retired Yankees residing in south Florida that are dumber than the voting machine.

Riiiight.

Also don't forget that most of this political whining yer referring to is threads started by the repubs.

I can count the libs here on both hands. It'd take a few pairs at least to count the repubs. You trying to tell me that it's all MT's, Sands, Tweety's Gsholz's, rpm's and mine's fault?

Bah.

I really doubt there are many swing votes on this board.

Most seem like "If I was old enough to vote, I'd vote for Bush because my daddy is!"

Actually, This board is just as polarized to one of either sides as the USA is.  The third, fourth, etc..parties are insignificant in comparison to election years in the past.

Just for the record, I ain't no liberal. I voted for one democratic candidate in my life and that was on a state level. Bush is just an average President of questionable intelligence and judgement. If something clearly better comes along, I'll vote for him - Democrat or not. Not that it matters - but I shuddered a little being grouped as a liberal :D

Not only that, but a few of the "Dems" (including yourself) aren't even voting in the election.

nah...but remember what it was like here when lepaul started the checksix forums...a little better than that, only all the time. (hmm i may have said to much, skuzzy doesnt like us commenting on other boards moderating) but for the most part theres very few political threads, quite a lighthearted place actually.

When I post stuff about my team, all is well.

When you post stuff about your team, then...

...This board sucks.  You all post the same crap.  I gotta find a new board to post my teams crap on without you posting crap about your team that I don't agree with on!!1!!

I'm like Tweety. I base my vote on the candidates. I have cast many votes for republicans that I thought were better suited for the job. Often I vote against an incumbant because I disapprove of their performance and will give the opposition a chance to show me what they can do.

If there wasn't such rabid right wing posts in here, I probably would never post counter political views. I just think if your going to open it to politics, it should include all views. We all want a better country, but we have different ideas on how to achive it.

The "die-hard, stay away from my guns, cut taxes and Thump My Bible Republicans" only want 1 point of view to be heard and dogpile anything that is to the contrary. That is not what America is about or based upon.

Kerry certainly wasn't my 1st choice, but he is the only viable opponent to unseat the incumbant that I think has done a poor job.
