Yep seems the stupid dems wanted europe to monitor our elections.
Yep seems the stupid repubs have agreed.
A pox on both their houses, what the heck is bush doing? We dont need anyone from europe coming in here, to oversee us do anything. Im betting the dems and repubs can handle it. We been doing it for a long time. Both sides have smart lawyers and dumb followers like us. I do question the Presidents actions sometimes.
Any chance of agreeing on this one?

Probably not. I'd say the odds are 3-1 against.

Yep, you did a great job in your last election, didn't you?

Hell, I'd volunteer to monitor your elections. I'd request a spot down in Texas and give some of ya noogies on the way in. Wouldn't that be a laff. :D

USA is the puppet of Europe ... You just don't know it, you are blinded by your egos.

At least you didn't take Castro up on his offer to send an election monitoring team to Florida the last time. THAT would have been priceless.
The reputation of our voting system?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Frenchy,
Put the pipe on the ground and step away.

Ahh, in case it has escaped you, the same organization will be monitoring the election as monitored the last one, this isn't new, they are just going to use more people.

*lol* Come now, at least you can agree that it was an embarrassing mess. Hopefully this one will be a lot better, no matter who wins.
I thought it was embarrassing because of the way the participants acted, not because of the process. The process worked just as it should.

Dago......happened before...
Not quite right and perhaps that was my fault. Yes same group has been here before studying and such. But NOT the election foR the PRESIDENT. Much different.
This is for Americans....Ah most Americans....Well at least half of America. I know why europe is upset at last election.....cause there was no revolution...no blood shed.... no world war started... no small war started... no executions...no overthrow... They just dont know how to handle that.
-
No...we were just annoyed that a dweeb with connections managed to win the election in the most powerful country in the world when most of the country voted against him.
Is that wrong? Do tell!

Ravs...annoyed....
No need to be annoyed, our system doesnt use the who got the most votes system. This wasnt the first time someone won without the[ most votes] .Nor was it the first time we had a dispute on votes. Just the first time a narcissistic and poor me person was involved.
If it was good enough for our fore fathers it is good enough for us now.

So much for the time honoured response to any criticism of the US political landscape, that US politics has nothing to do with Europe and Euros should just be quiet.
LOL.
and LOL Ravs for the puppet comment.:D

Outstanding thread.
Europe has also helped other third world countries to monitor their elections so why not america?
:p (lighten up folks!)

you mean the euros will turn away bus loads of dems with fists full of smokes with instructions on "how to vote for the dumbacrat?" in their hands??
or will they make sure the voting booths don't stay open past closing hour while additional dumbacrats are rounded up to vote?
or will they make sure a state isn't called for the dumbacrat before the polls are closed/counted in both timezones of that state??
and the dems asked for this???
LOL
fair, can you say honest, elections have ALWAYS favored the RNC - thanks dumbacrats - LOL

Ahh, good use of resourses.:aok

yep.. but all resources are not created equal. you use the resources the best way they can be used. In this case.... simply pretend to use em.

I was actually referring to the cash amount that will be forked over for the priviledge of having these monitors. The monitors aren't going to pay for it, that's for sure.
I wonder how much this "pretending" will cost your government?

Huge, huge, huge, huge mistake.

Ummmm...a system devised 200 years ago when communications took weeks if not months to cross the nation and literacy was low is still applicable now?
I'm not saying the system needs changing but that assertion is completely out of context.
Hell slavery was good enough for the founding fathers too...maybe that should be re-instated?
I think the mistake made at the beginning of this post was the assumption that monitoring is bad? Not at all. In fact having people who don't have a direct stake in the results monitor the elections is a good policy. I'm just not sure Europeans are exactly unbiased on this front. Maybe an international panel? Like olympic Ice Skating...oh wait bad example.
Canadians have problems with this too. It would help if the press was actually immune from bias (in either direction) and capable of being democracy's watchdog. Sadly though, relying on the press to play its role in monitoring democracy is rather like asking a blind, deaf, mute quadraplegic to protect your nymphomaniac daughter's virtue.
-
curval... the money is important but money spent on an illussion is sometimes money well spent.
Adogg... there is nothing in our constitution that says slavery is ok. The constitution is a timeless document. people have not changed since then. We still need the protections from government it assures. I know that being from canada you wouldn't understand that.

Actually we've imported the Swedish bikini team to monitor the elections in SoCal.
There's eurotrash and then there's EUROTRASH.
