This is why I'm a Republican and this is the kind of crap we will have if Kerry drives the boat....like cockroaches, they'll all come out at night and the rest of us will wake up to a very different America.

Some personality types cannot just accept defeat...
"We need to make sure that it doesn't happen again," Brown said in taunting Bush and the Republican Party. "Over and over again, after the election, when you stole the election, you came back here and said 'get over it.' No, we're not going to 'get over it' and we want verification from the world."
She was subsequently censured by the U.S. House and her remarks were stricken from the congressional record.

So guards the UN to make sure that they are honest and fair while "playing judge" to our elections?
WOW that's just what we need.....Foreigners telling us how to elect our own leaders....
What happens if they dont "certify" the results? UN peackeepers and a provisional govt untill new elections take place?
Hell lets just rewrite the constitution too
-
In effect, they were deemed so stupid as to not be worth putting into the congressional record-and that is saying a lot!
-
The jury will kindly disregard the testimony of the nutjob from ..... Florida.
oops.
-
LOL the republicans wouldnt even have to break a swet to pull one over on the UN.
-
Lets have the French supervise our elections.

No matter which side of the fence you sit on, this is a disturbing precedent.

Every mornin' on the Hill you could see him arrive
Standing six-foot-four, weighing one-twenty-five
Kinda' scrawny at the shoulders and lacking a spine
And when he spoke at all, it was mainly to whine
Big John...
(Big John, Big John) Big Bad John
Nobody seems to know what's in John's soul
His 'beliefs' are based on the latest poll
'Though he'll say what it takes to get your votes
It's the leftist agenda that he really promotes - Big John.
Some one said he came from Boston town
Where he joined the Navy and gained renown
'Earning' three purple hearts and one bronze star
The home folks said, "This boy will go far"
Big John...
(Big John, Big John) Big Bad John (Big John)
Then came a day back in '71
When he renounced all the medals that he had won
Then turned against his country and his Navy friends
And sold them out for his! own selfish ends? (Big John)
He appeared before Congress and on left-wing talk shows
Giving aid and comfort to America's foes
It was clear to see whose side he was on
Some say he helped cause the fall of Saigon -
Big John...
(Big John, Big John) Big Bad John (Big John)
He claims to be for the working poor
Yet he owns 5 mansions from shore to shore
He never had to work a day in his life
'cause he learned it helps to have a wealthy wife! -
Big John...
Now he wants to be our next President
and Commander-in-chief of those he resents:
The American soldiers who fight and die
To give him the freedom to tell us his lies
Big John...
(Big John, Big John) Big Bad John (Big John)
Thousands have sacrificed their young lives
To help ensure that our nation survives
A vote for Kerry is a slap in the face
To all the brave soldiers that he's disgraced...
FADE (Big John, Big John) Big Bad John
:rofl

Nope, the organisation just monitors and analyses the election.
I don't think the actual organsiation is even part of the UN. Passing strange that the OSCE wasn't even mentioned in the article linked but it is mentioned here.

If we have a provisional government can we start an issurection? after all Thomas Jefferson, one of our most revered founding fathers said that "A little revolution from time to time is a good thing" :D :D :D

No the UN rejected the request to monitor because the President didn't ask for it. Got that from talk radio this morning.
-
"Get a grip."
I think we have a grip.
It's somewhat disturbing that more than a dozen congressmen would willingly offer to surrender our election sovereignty in such a manner.

This is probably the stupidest thing I've heard in a while and I think those that voted or suggested this should be shot for treason.
-
Having independant observers at an election is fairly standard. They issue a report at the end stating whether they think it was free and fair and what if any problems occur. They can't actually overturn or modify the results in anyway.
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

C'mon Pei, please leave us Amurikens to our uninformed opinions. ;)

But I'll believe 95% of those polite, middle-of-the-road, "we're almost Republicans" delegates at the Democratic convention would have whole-heartedly agreed with and wildly applauded Ms Brown had she said this from the stage during the convention:
"Over and over again, after the election, when you stole the election
-
You're right, Republicans would never mindlessly play follow-the-leader. The only thing dumber than a completely partisan politician is a completely partisan voter. That holds equally true for a Democrat, Republican, whatever.
-
Yeah, SOB, I really do think those delegates were really as middle of the road as they were coached to be.
What's cool is that both parties learned from Bill to co-opt the other guy's position and pretend to be whatever it takes.
I'm so old I remember when parties actually staked out different territories in their party platforms and aruged with each other instead of "me too! me too!" -ing their way into the hearts of Amurrikenz evarwhar.
Every once in a while though, like in this instance, the inner demon shines through.
-
But cripes, are you all being as moronic as you are supposed to be?
-
Probably not. We leave that task to Canadians and Euros.
:p
