Title: Windows XP Service Pack #2
Post by: Ack-Ack on August 10, 2004, 03:00:35 AM
If any of you installed Service Pack #2 for XP, make sure that you disable the Windows Firewall that it automatically enables.  If you don't you might not be able to log into AH2.  It is also recommended that you upgrade to DirectX 9c with Service Pack #2.

That is all, dismissed.

you don't have to disable the firewall, you will be prompted for permission the 1st time you run AH2 just click OK and you can even host H2H with it on, the version of SP2 I installed had DX9c built in.

Any word on whether 9.0c improves gameplay in any way?

no, directx9c does not improve game play.  in fact, it's got some known issues with the ATI catalyst drivers so you might see an increase in crashes.
