So mark you down as a vote for Bush.
As to me. Neither. I wil never vote for Bush and my skin crawls thinking of Kerry. And if a vote for MCain or any one else steals one away from Bush then I still satisfy my ultimate aim of helping to remove the Bush administration
-
Hmmm, good question. We're getting quite short on good leaders, the 1960's pretty much ruined the distant future of our society with the drug culture...let me think about it for a bit Grun.
We reap what we sow....
Edit:
Going back to "lesser of two evils" philosophy. A grudge vote against Kerry would be a vote for Bush and visa versa.
-
This thread IS NOT about Bush or Kerry or their suckage which has been sufficently establised in many other threads.
This thread IS about people who you belive to be sufficently lacking in suckage to make a good president.
So again, no Bush no Kerry.
Who would you like to run for President? Who would be an exting candidate for you?
-
mccain would be one id like to see.

Hillary Clinton.

Right now? As in people who have actually campaigned to get their parties support? Well, neither of the two big parties really. Libertarian seems nice, but then Micheal Badnarik - not entirely sure about that guy. Colin Powell would be a choice right off the top of my head (yeah I know...) because I believe he'd bring the Republican party back to what it says it stands for.

I think that the first thing that a new president would have to do is bring your country together. I would have to go for a Powell or a McCain. Someone has to grab the moderate mass and as much of the inner right and inner left that they can get. And get the US working together. I think probably Powel. It would be best if the guy that has to clean up Iraq couldnt point fingers as to how it started.
-
"Who would you like to run for President? Who would be an exting candidate for you?"
Pretty much anyone who isn't chained to the handlers of their respective Party.

I was behind McCain until I heard he wanted to privatize and start adding fees for the Air Traffic Control system. This would ruin General Aviation in America, much like it has in Europe.

If the vote monitors declare our elections are shady..We should have one since there will be no legitamate leader after Jan 21st 2005. After all Thomas Jefferson said that Revolution is neccessary from time to time to ensure the government doesn't get too opressive.

of course if the revolution fails, the government goes police state to stop it fro m happening again...a bloodless coup would probably work better

Yes... I agree. But where are we going to find a legion of Robot Berserkers to do our bidding?

GRUN ... sad part is that you cannot find anybody in poltics that does not suffer from SUCKAGE in one form or another.
The smartest, most honest, most loyal person that I can think of would have to be my father, and he is not available for the position.

Hmmmm.....where is LePaul when you need him?

Grun you have no right to question who is president unless you served in the boy scouts.
-
Arthur Clark had an interesting idea in one of his novels. The selection of the president was done by a semi-intelligent program.
This type of technology is present. Rule based programs are quite successful. There is at least one program I know a little about that diagnoses illnesses at least as well as the average physician. They had a program which evaluated loan candidates, but its use was eventually discontinued due to complaints by certain groups.
So, to answer Grun's question, I suggest that we should not propose a candidate, but rather we should compile a list of requirements which are non-partisan.

Well at least he should never ever critisise how many merit badges a president got if he never got any himself.

James Q. Wilson
But we don't elect people who make sense - we elect rich politicians bored with money and looking for a power fix.

Hehe MT, nice......

geeze westy... kerrie makes your skin crawl but you want to put him in power? If kerrie had no chance at all then I could see the point of a protest vote.
Best politicians are conservative actors. Clint Eastwood or Arnie would make great presidents.
worst politicians are the democrats that are old enough to have been "inspired" by JFK.

It's fairly common knowledge VOR, do a search and you'll find out what you need.
Privitization of ATC will cost anyone who flies. I can just imagine getting a bill every time I call Weather Services or request a Flight Following. That is the way privitization has affected Europe.
I would like to hear some first had accounts from the Canadians since they privitized.

For the terminally young..
http://www.paulsen.com/
Pat Paulsen was a writer for the Smothers Brothers Show, and a funny guy. He made a lark run for President in 1968, and did surprisingly well (as a write in). He repeated his run each election year thereafter until his death.

Is there any way you guys could clone FDR? He has to be the ideal canditate.
I don't think it matters much who is president because what matters is who he brings to the party. The cabinet and advisors. Essentially the USA is run by Rumsfeld, Powell, Rice, Ashcroft etc. If they are good at their job things go well. If not............
Bush is basically the Chief Executive.
Same goes for Kerry. Just who does he have in mind for his cabinet?
