Hey all.. Mane, XtrmeJ, and myself have been playing JO pretty heavily for the last few days! The 3 of us stick pretty tight and have loads of fun! Last night during gameplay we had several maps where the 3 of us would score over 100 kills!! LoL We have some pretty good rape spots picked out along the map and can work them pretty well..
I'm posting to see if there are any other JO players here? You can download and play the demo for free which is what we have been doing... We need a few more folks for our team.. Need some gunners and maybe 1 sniper.. Of course, all medics are welcome.. We three generally play medics exclusively so we can stay in any 1 area for an extented time.. Like I said already bout our play last night was we were owning even if in short time.. hehe The maps are hugh with usually around 100 players playing..
Its a great game.. I've been playing for about 4 days now and am totally addicted.. Graphics and terrain are the best I have ever seen for a FPS.. The game is simply amazing.. Need recruits!! Should you choose to play you can locate any of us.. There is an ingame player finder.. You can see the 'player list' and filter for names to find a particular person.. 8) Mane and XtrmeJ use their names and I use Treefrog. Hope to see some of you guys soon! Will be playing this afternoon im sure! hehe

The Demo can be downloaded here.. The game takes some computing though.. lol The map we play is hugh!
Also I believe there is one update to the game you must do before you play.. Dunno if you have played any Novalogic games but you update their games from their server.. It is an ingame update and its one of the options ont he opening screen..

the chat box goes by so fast.. sometimes its hard to see someone tryin to get your attention..
I dont remember how, but we all talk on what is kinda like a squad chan.. Its purple text.. maybe xj or Mane will be along later and tell how to get on that chan with us.. hehe
Also we were discussing starting to use Team Speak as a voice chat in game.. 8)

I have the full game. Its pretty fun, though I liked BHD better in terms of connection. JO has much better options in terms of weapons and vehicles. I love tooling around and running people over in the dune buggies.

I just started palying it today. FPS's arent really my thing but it was "ok". Every map was a night map. I dont kno what the attraction is to run around wiht everyhting "green" and gamma/brightness adjusted. It seems silly to me. About as much fun as Ah or FB at night...
I have a TS server set up for my Il2 squad.
I will playing FB tonight but maybe I will look yas up later in the week.
My SO nic is Helvik (wotan was taken).

Err Yah this game rocks. I have already ordered the boxed set and I know Mane and Kappa (Treefrog) are doing the same. We're setting up a teamspeak server soon, we'll post here with it once we have that figured out. For now if you see me in there, type to me, may take a few tries as we may be playing, or the better thing may be to post here, and give me your ingame I.D amd I'll invite ya to the squad. Hope to see some of you in there. :)

hehe Wotan - I had the night problem as well. kept looking for a day map - and thinking damn these guys are good at nighttime.
It's a bug , there is a setting you need to change in the graphices set-up . I think it's frame effects in video settings it can't be high , with a radeon card , something like that.

I've been playing as "Simanov." I too have a couple of favorite spots picked out. I've found the rifleman w/ the grenade launcher and RPG/AT4 is the most versatile setup. I'll look you guys up next time I'm on.
I'm thinking about buying the game but need to upgrade my machine before I do.

Yah it's pretty killer on slower machines. Need a good setup to run the game nicely.

I laugh when I go back to demo... school all those noob snipers. It's almost sad, the spots they think are good.

Yah Steve. Im waiting for the word from Mane and Kap on when they are going to purchase it and I'll do the same. We have been in the demo alot recently, stop by and you will more than likely see us in there. The snipers are pretty junk, easy to find, but some are fairly good shots.

Well there were maybe 10 of us who played a few weeks ago. The hysteria died and only a few remain :) Been busy with EVE and Doom 3. I can break it out and school you fellas if you really want :D

I have a slow system, but it runs decent. Well enough for me to score #1 out of a hundered players 3 times in a row. (maybe they all REALLY sucked?)
I'm on a 1.4 t-bird w/ 640mb of pc133 (lol yes) ram and a sapphire 9600np. I had to turn the graphics all the way down, but it runs OK.

Wotan, I bet you have a 9800. You can't use full antialiasing along with full effects (or something)... there's a very specific mention of it in the read-me.
I also thought it was just night-time everywhere. :)

It's not hard to get #1 score. It's the K/D that matters in there. :D

I've thought about looking back into FPS. I played the Delta Force Series starting back on Delta Force 2. After BHD came out I played it for awhile but it seemed to be the same ole stuff day in day out.
Have they fixed the black dot bug for folks at long ranges away? Also is it still Quake like in game play? Basically are folks still running and hitting perfect shots with the M249 and M60s? Seemed that killed the fun before. Folks just running and spraying everywhere. Was very little team play going on. I know Team 5 was pretty good in BHD. I ran the GnA (Glory & Aspiration)squad during Land Warrior and BHD. I know the Psycho Squadron was pretty good in there too. I may have to download the demo and check it out sometime.

Installed it and had it running when I came back at 1AM yesterday, with not all my brain function working at 100%. It was the slideshow I expected, of course, I noticed (after) that I also had 3 explorer pages open, my email client, and emule running at the same time...
I will try it again this evening, withoout the extra... :D

Scot, JDW and I played for about 4 hours tonight. We were mostly goofing around.
We have the box game and I have TS up.
We may get on tomorrow or we may head into FB/AEP.

What graphics card do you all have? I am disappointed by the slideshow even on the minimal settings.

You need a fairly good graphics card to get the eye candy. I have the X800, 9800Pro would run it fine.

I went down and bought JO. My in game name is Cobra412. I have no clue on what servers yall play in. I've just been jumping around here and there. I may also be able to host servers on my second machine. It's got a very high rate cable access on it.

I bought the game this w/end.. Its pretty nice! Some crazy bellybutton maps there.. hehe But still they have great terrain and color.. With this game they have divided west/east coast servers.. I think that sucks.. It would be better keeping them all together like Novalogic's games in the past..
One thing for certain is its really tough playing alone.. hehe
I play as Treefrog-AOM- or 'a amoeba'....
lol I keep forgetting to post some screenies.. will try again this evening! hehe

I play every evening on the Bunker Hill servers, East Coast, usually the no sniper one-ingame is Lizking.

I tried JO for a little bit. I didnt like it much for some reason. Ive kinda gotten into that Americas Army (http://www.americasarmy.com) game some of you may have heard of. I think its about 10 times better than Joint Ops. :)

Because of the map sizes, I only play with less than 30 people on TKOH, and it generally falls in that area.
