I needed to replace my modem with a unit based on the Intel 536EP V.92 chipset. I installed it with Intel's latest drivers. It constantly causes loss of UDP in AH2 because, I suspect, it retrains every few minutes. I have tried AT%E0 (suppossed to disable retrain) as well as AT+MS=V92,1,300,33600,28000,40000 to force a lower connection rate (which it does) but it doesn't help. (40000 is a safe rate for my line as it was rock solid on the modem being replaced.) Any ideas? Or should I just keep buying modems until I get one that works? ;-)
Thanks.

PS- no, DSL isn't available on my line.

Ping the aces high server and see what you get.
Do tracert to the aces high server too. May be a problem down the line.
Any USP connections for this modem?
Any routers in the way? Connection sharing with another computer in the house?
Firewalls down? Anti virus programs off?
Does your computer share a home phone line?
Are people in the home trying to call out while you're online?
Do you have neat telephone features on the computer phone line?
Things like call waiting mess with the signal.
All I can think of at the moment.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately it's none of those things.
