Title: Operation OverLord Next Fridays Squad Ops
Post by: 68KO on August 11, 2004, 08:04:28 PM
As agreed at the Trident Conference in Washington in 1943, the Western Allies laid plans for an invation of Europe in 1944. Ignoring the fact that they already held a foothold in Europe, Italy, the American and British planners yielded to political pressures and selected France as the target of a cross-channel assualt. By the beginning of June 1944 every precaution that could be taken to safeguard 'Overlord' had been taken, but one important and imponderable factor remained - the weather.

- Icons short
- .51 Ack
- Fighter and Bomber warning range 42,000 (about 8 miles)
- Tower range set to 42,000 (for display only to match the above setting)
- Haze/fog full visability (17 miles)
- Radar off
- Friendly collisions off
- Killshooter off
- South East 10 knots
- Time: 9 AM

Designer Notes
The reason Tower range is the same as the Fighter and Bomber warning range is to show the squads on the clipboard (visual aid) how far the warning radius is. It serves no other purpose than that since radar is off.

CM Notes
- Frame C.O.'s will place Task Groups within a 6 sector area. Task Groups must remain in those 6 sectors.
- Jump task groups to positions requested by Frame C.O.'s the last 5 minutes. Each side has 3 Task Groups.
- Destroy 5' guns in Task groups.
- Allow players to man all other ack in Task Groups.
- Set time to 9 AM

Great 68KO!  Just requested allied for the 412th FS.  Since we are a pony squad we hope to be in P-51's if at all possible.  Thanks for your consideration.

A question - what are the dates being set for the Overlord FSO?  Thanks!

Looks good 68KO! :)

I put in my side request here.
http://events.hitechcreations.com/squadops/index.php

dtango when squads have a particular ride as you guys do the P-51 is it very likely you will get it for at least 2 of the 3 frames. :) I am not the Admin CM this time, but that is what we aim for. I usually remind Frame C.O. to give squads that have formed around a certain Aircraft that ride. It would be silly not to since that is what they are best at anyway.

I sent in my side request for Allies, and changed Shillelagh's commitment to 4-6 since we are having some trouble hitting our numbers.
