there are how namy allied bombers in the planeset?? 6? 7?

and only 1 german level bomber.

i really hope Superfly is not working on another allied bomber to jam the planeset with something that is needed a LONG way down the road compared to filling the axis side IMHO.

LOL, like anyone will use a new bomber well anyway.  Just another 3 plane formation divebombing or 200ft cartpetbombing wonder.

How many Japanese level bombers do you see in-game? :)

Can you say Betty? I knew you could.

i feel a Betty or a P-2 would go along way to helping in filling planeset gaps

Might ought to consider adding a bomber to country planesets that have no bombing or strike capabilites currently.

Current bombers in AH, ommiting attack aircraft:

USA:
B-17G
B-26B
SBD-5
TBM-3

JAPAN:
B5N2
D3A1
Ki-67

GERMANY:
Ar234B
Ju87D-3

RUSSIA:

I'd like to see a Ju188A-2 or Tu-2S personally.

SBDs, D3As and JU-87s may come up as bombers in the hangar list but I'd still classify them as strictly attack craft. IL-2s should come up under the above criteria. Leavin' Italy as the one country with no bombing or attack capability. Just sayin'.

Although i begged for the B24 over a Year and a Half ago

http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=78479&referrerid=7566

I have come to realize that the planeset could use some more Axis level bombers. The TOD, Special Events, and CT players are deserving of this gift.
I hope they get it. I will wait it out for the Liberator.

the belly of the liberator doesnt have enough guns to justify it :p

The idea of the Liberator from my plea was its Range.
Actually the B17 had much more range that HTC has currently modeled.
BTW..i dont want to get into anther bomber debate.
This is my last reply to this thread.
Salute!

Mugzee,

The B-17 in AH can take off all the way on one side of a small map, bomb something all the way on the other side, and fly back to the base it took off of with the fuel multiplier set to 2.

PB4Y2 would be the ultimate MA bomber

low alt high speed heavy armament heavy bomb load and NEVER BEEN MODELLED
Title: The Bomber ?
Post by: Citabria on August 12, 2004, 09:55:32 PM
we have suffered through years of no new planes

now is not the time to be modelling obscure crap planes because some crackpot thinks it will be really great in some scenario where it gets used twice like the ju87. COME ON!!

we need heavy duty kick bellybutton take names guns blazing egg dropping fire breathing 4 engines monsters.

seriously.

b24
pb4y
b29

the ones that can go in in daylight and make it back. not this creepy crawly cowardly nightcrapbomber weak defenses and weak payload.

screw that. the CT and scenarios can wait. the MA needs fresh aluminum overcast.

i dunno bout anyone else but I dont find it entertaining to take a defenseless bomber into a pack of la7s and get shot to hell without a chance of survival no matter how cool the plane is.

I do think some of the other countries should have more Buffs,
like the Betty, He111, the funny lookin Italian bomber.
All needed for Scenarios etc.

But they will be covered with cobwebs in the MA.

The B-24 was one of the most produced AC for the US in WWII,
It has to be in.

Are there any common WWII non-allied buffs that could carry more then 5k of ord? just curious.

Modeling new bombers for the MA is like modeling new pace cars for the Indy 500. Nice but not needed. You can start the race with a 4 banger.

Modeling new aircraft to fill the gaps in historical settings goes farther to promote the areas that need promoting.

But .... TMO. :D
