What is the naacp gonna do, boycott the state? why not show some black solidarity and have all negros move out of the state? great! What the Hell is that supposed to mean?!? I'm Native American Navajo but I still take offense to this simple minded comment.
What I want to know is, Is this the general consensus of the ACES HIGH community or just one of the few bad apples. Speak up if you proudly agree with Kai.
Because if the majority of you are racists, then I suppose I am not worthy to fly in your sim.

No, I doubt seriously that the majority of people in this or any other sim believes that kind of garbage.
everyone in the world has a photographic mind, seems WAAAAY to many of them have no film,,,, sad but true....

Yes Kai posted it on this BBS under the now locked thread about
swastikas(<~~spelling?) on planes.
It concerned me because the thread continued on, with no one noting the narrow minded rascist comment. Then it got to me thinking about exactly WHO am I flying wingtip to wingtip with, even IF it is just a virtual flight sim, if the majority are racists then I have no desire to fly here.
Hence my question about the apples and the barrel.

Why would ONE very disgusting post make you suspicious of an entire group? As far as I have noted, the posts are useful and in good taste.

Ever pause to wonder why that thread was locked? Perhaps because it had ceased being a discussion concerning AH and was threatening to become a destructive bashfest between hot heads, racists, the outraged, and the offended.
I don't think this forum is intended for personal attacks, no matter how repugnant those persons' views may be. Nor is this a place to discuss those views: there are plenty of forums for that; in any case, those who cling to irrational positions rarely show themselves conducive to reasoned argumentation.
As for the "Bad apple or whole barrel" question, I find the idea of leveling that charge highly offensive. Because I read this bulletin board does not mean I have to subscribe to the views expressed here. Because I don't start an inappropriate thread because someone else said something inappropriate and offensive, doesn't mean I condone the offense. FWIW, 4 of the 6 posts made in the two hours intervening between the posting of the off-topic rant and the locking of the thread did express a negative opinion of said rant. It is a testimony to the maturity of the community that they didn't engage in mudslinging.
As with any international online community, here you will find hiding behind their personae any number of uncircumcised barbarians with views extremely offensive, either to you, or in absolute. For me, it adds to the pleasure of shootin' em down.

Unfortunately, there will always be idiots around, even those who may masquerade hatred with good intentions. But ozbelieves they are only a small minority. At the same time, it's a case of the squeaky wheel getting the grease -- because such a comment was so inflammatory, it becomes much more noticable. Not everyone is like that. Most aren't. That post is the reason why that thread was closed and the topic is not open for discussion in my mind. I closed the topic instead of deleting so that people could read it and see where it's lead. It's not just an issue of what's historical or what's realistic.
As to why nobody jumped on it, it's because most people realize that that was the purpose of the post. It was made to incite, to get a reaction. See it for what it is, that's why I left it there to be read.
