You would think it would be easy... I'm pro abortion, anti death penalty, pro affermitive action, anti deregulation.... In short John Kerry is the ideal candidate for me, and I am the typical John Kerry Democrat.
But.... Something is holding me back. Is it the way he throws a baseball? No. His war record? Hardly. I am throughly convinced that Bush and his posse of right wing neocons are the worst thing that's ever happened to America, both internationally and domestically...I believe Bush will continue his imperialistic adventures in the Middle East while he works to oppress us, the American citizens, and deteroriates our civil rights.
In spite of all this- my belief in the evilness of right wing extremism- I will be voting for President Bush for another four years. And I will vote for every Republican on my ballot- I want them to continue to control all three branches of our Government for another four years. .. because, although I know just how barbaric conservatism is, many in America don't believe it is quite the threat the rest of the world views this administration...and by keeping them in office their policies will fail and they won't be able to blame it on the Dems.
Maybe another four years of our civil rights being violated and Bush starting wars based upon what God tells him to do- maybe more anti homosexual constitutional amendments, maybe more detainees held indefinately without trial- maybe four more years of the Conservatives selling out the common man, sending our jobs overseas-
Then maybe we can bury Conservatism in the last millenium right next to Fascism and Slavery.
Vote Bush. You deserve it.

Nice one. :aok
Heh...
I heard one guy on the television-set say something along the lines of:
"Vote George Bush? Of course! He is like the most perfect President there can possibly be to oversee the end of the world as we know it."
-
What's cool is that it doesn't matter if you like Bush, Kerry is going to lose in a landslide because Americans are not as stupid as Kerry would like.
-
Well I just hope SOMEONE loses in a landslide just so we can avoid the 50 rounds of recounts like we had last time.

Honey,
I think we need a long, long walk along the beach. Just you and me, alone.
Trust me. I'll hold both of your hands with mine, so if you notice anything strange below, it will not be me.
-
Seriously, I found it counter-productive to hinge my future on the current political "leadership".
My strategy was... Be honest, be true to yourself, be good at what you are doing and ignore the rest. Do not, I repeat DO NOT let the politicians to affect your life, but...
The times they are a'changin...

Click here, then explain what civil rights you've personally lost (http://www.blackhelicopters.com)[/b]
(btw, nice action, good color, but this ponds been overfished. I'll humor you with a nibble ;) )

The best reason to vote Bush is buried in that Kerry Akbar picture.
"Anyone but Bush" is the call of the religious nutjobs in the Middle East.
This surely makes the choice an easy one for Americans.
-
I used to be far right in politics (our conservative party) , but after having a kid of my own i have gotten other values. now ill move further left for the next election.
mmm, think ill have a swim now
thank you for your attention :D

I don't find consevatisivm "barbaric" but I do find liberalism dehumanizing (you aren't good enough on your own without help from the elite administering from our dachous).
I wouldn't tell the wife about your decision tho airhead... she won't buy it. better just tell her yu are voting for kerrie with all the women and then... when you are in the booth... vote for Bush with the men.

Ripsnort., the latest example of the erosion of our rights is Michael Powell's attempt to regulate content of Cable TV and satellite TV. He was able to effectively squash critisism of GWB on the radio airways as the radio airways are public property- although I disagreed with that and saw it as censorship of those you don't agree with- nothing more, npthing less- I could understand the logic.
Now the plan is for the Administration to censor ALL Media content, if not through mega mergers which puts our media in the hands of a few conglamorates, then through regulation.
This is one example, and the fact you, and the other Neo-Cons, don't realise it's happening as we speak shows me we need 4 more years of GWB... maybe then you'll get it.
-
I think the Dems would have had a much easier time of saving us from this pending rule by the Evil Emporer who's building the Death Star IF they hadn't picked the most liberal Senator in the Government to run.
Face it, Kerry is an extremist in the sense that he is as far to the liberal end of the bell curve as they could go. They've managed to mask that pretty well by focusing on VietNam and not his Senate voting record but it's true nonetheless. To me, he's about the polar opposite of Pat Buchanan. Neither one desirable, of course.
What happened to the true middle-of-the-road Democratic moderate?

Well he could only serve 2 terms - it's the law. Then George Bush got voted in.

I smell stinky bait.

Well then you *should* vote for Mr. Bush, read on:
Mr Powell does at least retain the support of President George Bush, however, who could exercise for the first time his right to veto legislation in order to rescue Mr Powell from his enemies in Congress. This week Rupert Murdoch, boss of News Corp and bogeyman to the rule-change opponents, put the odds on a veto at 60%.
As soon as you remove your foot from your mouth, I'd suggest posting a reply when you can. ;)

What happened to the true middle of the road Republican moderate?
Bush is as conservative as Kerry is liberal- I'd consider Buchanan and Nader to be fringe.
The fact so many of you are willing to condone the Iraqi invasion, the mess Conservatives have made by deregulation, and the polarization of gays and minorities from mainstream society is what's convinced me to vote for Bush.
In four more years- when we're still mired in a ground war in the Middle East with no end in sight, when our liberties have been further stripped, when abortion is banned and gays are censored through Constitutional Amendment- then we'll be able to bury Conservatism as an outdated concept and become progressive as a society again- with liberty, and justice, for all.

Are we talking about the same Michael Powell? I was refering to the Michael Powell, Chairman of the FCC-
Yes, he was appointed by Clinton (a moderate Democrat) but he was made Chairman by Bush (a conservative Republican.)
Anyway Rip we're both voting for the same guy, so we're preaching to the chior now.
-
Well, you're an admitted "Kerry man" apparently. To those who aren't, Kerry's absolutely as "fringe" as Buchanan or Nader. Even a liberal organization, ADA, puts him in the top 10 liberals in the Senate. That's at a pointy end of the bell curve no matter how you look at it.
So certainly, to my mind, Bush is nowhere near Buchanan as a Conservative extremist. If one thinks that, one hasn't studied Buchanan much. OTOH, Kerry IS the extreme end of the liberal spectrum and his voting record in the Senate is there for all to examine.
we'll be able to bury Conservatism as an outdated concept and become progressive as a society again
And replace it with an overbearing nanny government with socialist/communist wealth-redistribution policies.
Sorry, not everyone is going to think that's a better solution.
I'm still voting Lib. ;)

The notion that there is some kind of great ideological struggle going on is hilarious. It's not Ali vs. Foreman. It's WWF. And Airhead is the guy in the front row in a wifebeater with a "GO MACHOMAN" sign.

Airhead....Iraq....
Hey numbskull the reason we supported the invasion of Iraq was to fold.
1 We thought he had wmds, the 3 people that gave the most convencing arguement he had them was ,Clinton....Kerry...Putin[russia]....ya your heros.
2 to fight there instead of here , to give us time to prepare best we can, of course for people like you ,who would rather see Americans dead than terriost and believe we are more of a danger to the world than terrorist ,youll never understand the concept of this policy.
