Title: Unlimited planes in the CT!!
Post by: Grits on August 13, 2004, 11:46:57 PM
OK, not really, we always have limited plane sets, but it doesnt change with the numbers on the TWO sides.

If you lose your favorite ride in the MA , why not stop in and see the friendly folks in the CT? We love it when MA victi....er....pilots come to visit us. Think of it as a way to learn a new plane without all your MA buds knowing about it. :)

Title: Great Idea
Post by: DarkNet on August 14, 2004, 02:17:42 AM
I like the idea of trying to even out sides.  I see nothing wrong with finding a decent solution to this.  What I don't like is being told I can't fly a specific plane because country jumpers want to be on the winning side.  I like AH.  It is the first FS I have played that has gotten me to stay.  I am also a big fan of the P-51D.  This is a big reason why I joined the 339th in the first place.  But on nights where my squadron gets together and it just so happens the Rooks have a personel advantage and the game tells me that my plane can not be flown kinda irritates me.

I believe If you want to limit switching countries.  Start making it cost points to switch countries.   Make it a variable on map size, personel totals, total aired craft, and other such things.  Make it an cost the players perks to change countries during an onslot.  Discourage the idea of changing countries, not limit what I can fly.   Even make it a percentage of perks the  player has.  This would make players with a lot of perks think twice about changing countries.   (Would it be worth it if you were to loose 25-50 maybe 100 perks)  to change sides.

I'm ok with the idea of perking advanced planes, but telling me I can't fly it because my team has too many players, I don't agree with.

Thank You
This is my opinion.

maybe Kewassa's idea of perking every mid and late war plane was a good idea.

mid war planes perk cost a mere 2 or 3 each,  late war performance aircraft perks 5 and up .

2 week new users get unlimited amount of perks so they can  try all planes......

then start reducing their perks for a month  til they are down to say 300 at the end of their first 1 or 2 months. from then on they have to learn to fly their plane and kill then land successfully to be able to keep flying or they run out of perks if they are not wise. at the start of every tour you get to start out with  a set number of perks to begin with say 25 or 30 perks.

game play will change dramatically and you will see alot better air to air fights in my opinion.........

not sure who started the you are timid!  or the timidness phrase but no I mean

better fights.......well maybe not the horders would swarm 8 to 1 so they would all live.

I really don't care either way.......as long as I am not reduced to fly german planes or spitters I be ok......

maybe this then if the country that is near reset  can hold off the other 2 countrys for  say 4 or 6 straight hours with out losing 1 of their last 3 fields reset the arena call it a washout or something.....

just hope they dang open channel's ( ch200)  text buffer slows down over the weekend so I can read it, right now the whines are so fast coming that it is as if you got the DVD player on FF x2 speed :rofl

timidness if what you get from perks planes.  sure you get the once in a life time fester but that is about it.

so you are saying if every plae from 43 on was perked from 2 or 3 to 5 or 8 or 12 that no one would fight or they would run? and fly super high and not engage?

then every single person in the MA would be on a sunday fly!

I have a differing opinion than yours....I do not think every La7 P51D spitV or spitIX flyer is timid or and Fw flyer or 109 flyer not every ah flyer is timid, just a select few..........

heck prob 2/3's of the MA wouldn't even know what you was talking about if you called them timid,  still though CT is fun when there is someone in there not milking fields  all on 1 side with no opposition to stop them........

prob best action is squad ops at the present time......no matter the plane set......

This isnt about the MA, its about the CT which by definition has limited planes available, not as a patch.

Learn a new plane in the CT!!

I know Grits,  is why I said the CT is fun when there are people flying in there.

I have logged on at various times mostly late late at night or early in morning and find 2 to 5 players all flying on same side milk running fields with no oposition, but  all in all the Combat Theatre Arena is a great place to fly.

I just about always have fun in there....

no matter what the plane set is........

Yup, in that respect (late night milkrunning) its no different than the MA, worse sometimes. I just figured some folks (I know you already do) might want to give it a whirl if the MA gets too much for them.

aw hell, they do it anyway.. at least this way they'll die occasionally and lose perkies and get to the point where they *have* to engage to earn more.
