there has been whining about overusage of sertain planes in MA...
when they try to do something about it there is whining...
i dont get it
is it that fun to whine, or are people just hard to please. must be one or the other

I've been out of town for a week, and I haven't flown with the new system at all.
However, I would like to congratulate HiTech on perhaps the finest addition to the game... ever. So much whine. By God, so very, very much whine. I don't need to play to know it rocks.

Log off, change country, go to the DA, CT, TA or fly something else for a change.
Can you imagine the carnage caused by gaggle of high alt 202's?
A 50 val formation all diving at the same time?

well you take that away and there dumb founded and cant stand not flying there ride that they only fly
its like if they perked the P38L for being to uber and perked it at 200 perks wonder how much ACK ACK would be whining :D
i would never join a squad that only flew 1 plane gush there realy missing out on a great game

what amazes me is:
you can still fly P51B.
you can still fly 190A5/8
you can still fly La5
most of these models are as good a fighters as their later models. If you disabled something like the 38 or F6F or the n1k which is the only one of it's line I would see a point in the whine, but those planes?!

see the problem is that HTC is trying to please everybody. but cant. so they try for the majority. they need polls or sumthin but that isnt how the company works so it wont happen anyway. people whine......its a fact. they are either ignored or their complaint is taken into consideration. fuel, planeset, numbers. those were taken into consideration. i'm not gonna get myself all tangled up about, i'm leaving. but for those that plan to stick around, if you dont like the way things are just complain and complain. eventually they will either tall you to shut up or that they're working on it. and pawz people whine while online too. guess they shouldnt log on there either?

I don't think that's quite it. AH is the third generation of a product genre that started in 1987. It's a constantly evolving thing. So bailing out within 48 hours of a modification you don't like being released is statistically an unsound decision. Stand down for a week while it gets sorted out ... hell, if it wasn't for the balancer people would be up in arms about the collisions in a much bigger way.
An arena-based game like this is a balacning act. You have to provide entertainment for as many people as possible, but you also can't provide loopholes which allow a relatively small percentage mess it up for others. Hence the discussions recently about how easy it is for one person to kill HQ radar.
This balancer seemed a littlle harsh in its implementation to be dropped on people so suddenly. The reactions I saw from squads and newbies was pretty much what should have been expected. A mailing list I'm on was similar in reaction, though not as heated as we're all old-timers at this.
My issue with the balancer is that (a) it punishes too many people who aren't causing the problem, (b) there were other ways to implement it, or other solutions which could have improved gameplay, (c) it does nothing to address the Truce syndrome which also seems prevalent, and (d) it really doesn't address the cause of why squadrons aren't migrating and why Horde-ing is becoming so ingrained.
So don't go cancelling your accounts just yet. HT's been involved in this a long time and he'll get things working the way they should be. He has plenty of contructive input as well from experienced players so trust in that as well.

For once in AH istory it pays off to be a Luftard :D . I have no problem with my "rides" getting clipped ,since most don't use them anyhow :D

I agree here, Thats why I suggested Not attacking this problem at one source but spreading it out over 3 sources on a smaller scale.
B: would be the biggest problem, the "middle" team could still help the team with the larger numbers squash the team with the lower numbers, without the new plane disable effecting them. Therfor SOMETHING has to be added to help the smallest team, not just taking away from the largest team.

well im not canceling JUST because they decided that they want to take away planes. im leaving cause it aint what it used to be. i find myslef getting more and more irritated. i havent played with the new system in place yet but i'd be a little POed if i really really really wanted to fly la7 today, been looking forward to it all day so i could play and dweeb it out, and then be disappointed by it being disabled. is it stupid or "babyish" to show emotion that the game is slipping from what it used to be. is that wrong? and the crap about "why dont u switch countries." and all of the people you've gotten to know and have become friends with on your country. are they gonna switch too? no. or "then fly something different." what if i dont feel that way. what if i had my heart set on what i wanted to fly. what then.
i loved the game because i could fly what i wanted when i wanted for which ever country i wanted (given i was prepared to wait 10 hours til i could switch again). i decided at the beginning of the month i would be leaving. i dont want to pay to test a game and get the bugs out. i'll be back a few months down the line to see how things have progressed and save myself some money. i always see everything as worthy when there is more good to be had then bad. but these days the bad out weighs the good to me. and anyone with any snotty smart-ass remarks about dont let the door hit u or something similar i really dont want to hear it. u can shove it right back where it came from. but to the rest i'll be here on the message boards and eventually back in the MA.
the bottome line is i dont care that they put this new system in place. again, i'm leaving. but having to pay to test ideas that HTC happens to come up with w/o notice is unfair. its only $15 so i'm not gonna jump off a bridge but maybe giving ample notice and starting these things at the beginning of a billing period would make more sense. people pay for the services and then the services are changed mid-way? how is that fair? i paid to play how it was at the beginning of the month. if they change it and i dont like it i cant very well get my money back. the ideas are fine.....its the way they are implemented that is flawed.

Then it's probably time to realize that you can have friends in any country, and your friends from one side can switch too. Radio your buddies and tell em to switch to knights and have a blast together in LA7s.
Treat this as one community, not three.

No ... that's what makes AH so strong. Don't forget that HT and Pyro were all AW players long before they became game designers. If they didn't love this so much they wouldn't have started two companies to build the games.
I do understand the "its not fun anymore" syndrome. And the best thing to do for that is stand down for a couple of months. I think everyone goes through that at one time or another. I took almost a year off from flight sims because it just stopped being interesting.
But if you're not on a squad now, make sure you join one when you come back. For many players who grow tired of the MA, squadrons are the only way to go. At least then there's some sense of purpose and commaraderie.
