Why not look back over the past couple months since AH2 went live and delare a winner.
Then...hold a lottery by squads first, to determine what side they will fly on. Do this as evenly as possible. Then let lonewolves get "assigned" by lottery. After that, and each side is as even as possible, every new customer will be automatically assigned to the side that needs it. Lock the sides and see how it works.
Remember the chesspiece symbols dont mean a whole lot, and it would accomplish the goal of evening the sides, with no hits on plane use. It may be fun to fly with guys who used to be your enemy, as well as flying against previous teammates.
If for some reason people find that hard to do...why do we think the current system would ever change their minds?
Either we switch sides...or put up with losing a plane here and there...something has to be done.

FiLtH,
Just because the number of players assigned to any given country are even, doesnt mean that the numbers in game will be even.
From what Hitech posted they are fairly close now, with only a couple of percent advantage to the rooks. The issue is when these people are online. Not the number of players assigned.
Your Idea could actually backfire. You could have majority of rooks decide to play at 7am knits at 3pm and bish at 7pm. And no way to change sides to correct it.

Ya...you are right. But the lower part of the letter still stands.
