I had the day off and watched this battle on the History Channel today. The show was about the 3rd Army (Patton’s Command).

The Panther was in KÖLN (Cologne) Germany. The Panther was on the steps (or near) of the Cathedral. One of the American crewmembers stated that the US tank got a lucky shot. The driver saw the Panther had its turret turned towards the American tank. The US driver floored it and the turret gun fired. They hit the Panther. (Good original film of this event)

Him or them… War!
Someone lived… someone died!

The panther apparently took out one Sherman, and then a new elite tank, 85mm gun or something in that range, shot at the tank 3 times, and you can see the three holes in the tank alit when it starts to burn..

I posted the full video a while back

That Panther had already knocked out a US tank or two and was disabled. That Pershing pushed up and the Panther gunner was waiting for him to stop to fire at him. While the Pershing was still moving it fired and scored hit. The crew bailed and after a few more hits the Pershing brewed up the Panther. The crew were machine gunned down as they ran around a corner by ground troops who had flanked them. They were a rear guard as the wehrmacht pulled back.

I was talking about the photos (link) posted today!
Do you see the other tanks hit in the video/photos?

I did see an old man (History Channel) talking about how lucky he was to still be alive (crew member of the tank that got the first shot)!
