Title: CT Staff Positions
Post by: CurtissP-6EHawk on August 17, 2004, 06:54:06 PM
Hello all!

I am not interested in becomming a "CT Staff" i.e.;

Three Full Time CT Staffers
Four auxillary CT Staffers

however, I am interested in becomming a CT Settings moderator. As many of you know I do spend a lot of time in the CT. I am willing to "Maintain" the settings set forth by the CT Staff for a givin week.

For example;
1. Making sure ack is set at xx instead of xxx
2. Making sure enable planes are in deed "enabled"!
3. Making sure the wrong planes are not enabled, i.e. Allies having the A6M2.
4. Making sure ships are not captured if they are not supose to be captured.

etc etc etc.

If you are interested, let me know.
Thanks,
Hawk

I think Aux Staffer is basically that job description Hawk.

Can I nominate myself for a staff position too?

I don't have any friends either.

I think Hawk's idea has merit, whether it have the auxillary title or not.
The idea of having someone who spends most of their time in the CT with the ability to fix broken setups would be a plus, regardless if they ever run their own setup imo.
Give him some keys, a mop and pale, then let him wander the halls of the CT awaiting problems to arise. A CT janitor if you will. :D

I'm not against Hawk's idea and before the anouncement of electing more staffers it would have been crucial, but my impression is that a large reason we are electing 3 full time staff and 4 aux staff is so that we will have 7 folks who are full time CT'ers on the staff. If we elect 7 CT regulars to the staff then there will nearly always be ONE of them on right?

Again, I'm not against making Hawk the CT "Janitor" :p, just wondering if it would be needed if we elect full time CT fliers to the staff positions in the first place.

If the elections do indeed pan out this way, then you are exactly right Grits.
You can bet that September is gonna be interesting.  :)

They is in Texas, not Florida...  Anywho, the only thing Texan's hang is out, and hoss thieves :D

Bug; I still likes ya... Why else would I let yas shoot me down all the time... (well except for tha past couple years now)

Hawk; You chump!  Yer perfect for the job, and HTC'd be nuts not to accept you and the offer. :cool:

All: I haven't had a horse in this race for a couple years...  Now I'm nearly to the track again, so the above is my $0.03 on the subject.

From waht I've picked up in regards to the CT, someone is dropping the ball a lot more often than happened before I semi-retired from AH.  Not sure how this could happen, given the skill, knowledge base, and perspicacity of us folks that flew in CT regular like...???  But on the up side, now something is being done to remedy the situation. :)

Hawk that is exactly what the "Auxilliary" positions will be used for and they are considered part of the staff. You have to be known as that to have the ability to monitor a setup.

So if you want to throw your hat in the ring for an Auxilliary position then I will keep it on a notepad till the nominations start and will submit it at the said time.

BTW Fork and sabre are moving into auxilliary positions to help with the transition; I have accepted the CT Chair position to schedule the setups and be the target for public ridicule...aka "Voice of the CT Staff". As such Slash and I are not leaving the Staff positions (although I will move to an Auxillary in January).

I think the Full time staffers do need all the help they can get. If they need need a CT "Janitor", just call me. I just dont think I have what it takes to be a full time staffer, but I can push a broom just fine.

I didnt mean Janitor as an insult Hawk, and as Reschke said, what you described is what the Aux staffers would be doing, it wouldnt be full time.
