checked snopes(unconfirmed) sounds about like i would expect from the man tho...
OBSERVATIONS BY AN AIR FORCE PILOT
I'm confident that in approximately 15 minutes this article will be in the inboxes of every resident of the free world and maybe even a few people in France.
Chris Thomas, Air Force Pilot:
I would like to add my two cents about my John Kerry experience. During my career as an Air Force pilot, I spent two years flying a small twin engine prop plane around the Pacific from my base in Okinawa, Japan. On one trip we had to fly Senator Kerry, his congressional aide, and a Navy Captain (Vietnam, A-4 fighter pilot) who was also in Kerry's party to various locations
in Vietnam and Cambodia as part of the MIA/POW talks.
When I met him, he was wearing a shirt with a picture of his sailboat on it. I told him I had a 27' sailboat in Okinawa, he remarked "Oh I never sail on anything less than 135 feet."
Thanks, Senator, "I feel even better about the meager salary I get paid for flying you around the Pacific."
When we first flew him into Phnom Penh, he went to the back of the airplane and grabbed the pizza that was put aside for the crew and passed it around to his staff. He was never offered any pizza because they were supposed to have lunch with the Cambodian government when we landed. The pizza was the crew's only meal for that day and he ate it.
Then when we picked him up in Cambodia, he was an hour late getting to the airport. Because fuel was an issue, we could not start the engines and therefore the air conditioning until he arrived. Phnom Penh at that time was over 100 degrees with 95% humidity and we were basically sitting in a greenhouse behind the cockpit windows.
When he finally did arrive, we were wringing out our clothes from the perspiration. He walks out of the air conditioned car, into the airplane and asks us "Could you guys get the air-conditioning running, I'm a little warm?" The other pilot had to physically restrain me from going back there and picking a fight.
Then we took him into Noi Bai airfield in Hanoi. After we picked him up the next day (he stayed the night in Vietnam, we stayed in Bangkok) we taxied out, ran up the engines for take off and noticed that our prop rpm was vibrating all over the place. We taxied off to the side to look at it, but there was a good possibility that there was an engine malfunction and the engine may fail if we took off with it.
Well, Mr. Senator sticks his head up in the cockpit and says "This plane WILL take off, I have a press conference in Bangkok in three hours!" (Maybe this is an indication of how he will run the FAA).
American service members lives be damned, we had our Senatorial orders. We ran the engines again, and did not have the problem, so we took off and made it back. During the flight, he told everyone how he had taken a Cessna (a small General aviation plane) up with a fighter pilot, and the fighter pilot remarked that Kerry was one of the best pilots he had ever seen. I don't know about other pilots out there, but it's hard to imagine a little, single-engine prop plane pilot being able to show the "right stuff."
After Kerry left the plane, the Navy Captain came up to us, apologized and said basically that "he knows Kerry is a jerk" and that we should be glad we don't have to deal with him every day. Your choice folks. Elections in November. You want a mega-millionaire ego-maniac it's-all-about-me crew-eating-pizza-ite like Kerry or maybe a Green Party candidate like Ralph Nader? Or, God forbid, maybe even re-elect George Bush, a nice God fearing Christian bent on protecting us from terrorist attacks on US soil?

Last time I checked PIC is responsible for airplane, not some studmuffinedy as$ duffle bag.

wow from what i've read about Kerry this sounds like it fits his character profile. I will not comment on the truth of the article but that it sounds like something a pompous bellybutton from massachusets would be like.

These letters are manufactured for people with weak minds.

yes snopes said it is undetermined!
Whatever the probity of the e-mailed account, the larger issue isn't whether this specific piece is true, but whether the sentiment it expresses — that Senator Kerry goes through life with his nose in the air, oblivious to the hoi polloi who inhabit his immediate surroundings — is accurate. In regards to that issue, we can confirm that others have reported experiencing similar encounters with Senator Kerry.

No, his link says "Undetermined".

Let's see. In this story, Kerry not only treats a pilot like a piece of trash, but he treats a military pilot like a piece of trash. So now we've not only covered how he's an elitist scumbag, but also how he despises members of the armed forces. Two birds with one stone.
Then notice that the e-mail is a chain-letter (which is how "I'm confident that in approximately 15 minutes this article will be in the inboxes of every resident of the free world and maybe even a few people in France" translates to Internet language).
Then notice how it ends with a nice bit of moralizing and commentary where it states: "Your choice folks. Elections in November. You want a mega-millionaire ego-maniac it's-all-about-me crew-eating-pizza-ite like Kerry or maybe a Green Party candidate like Ralph Nader? Or, God forbid, maybe even re-elect George Bush, a nice God fearing Christian bent on protecting us from terrorist attacks on US soil?"
I'm a bit baffled. How does Kerry eating a crew's pizza equate to his not being bent on preventing terrorist attacks on US soil? Did I miss something?
If it walks like a duck, and if it quacks like a duck, then it's probably a duck. This is manufactured nonsense even if Kerry is an elitist salamander. The likely reason that Snopes can't substantiate the story one way or another is because they haven't confirmed the existence of a Chris Thomas flying for the Air Force out of Okinawa. Incidentally, what rank did Mr. Thomas hold? What kind of plane? What year? That lack of information makes confirming this story difficult.

Not only that, but the "alledged" pilot never even identified what type of pizza it was. Pepperoni? A Combo?
There's too many unanswered questions for me to believe this...nonsense.

I second that !!!
no if there..

Well when I was sixteen and taking a student driving course (like I needed it), my driving instructor claimed to be former AirForce. He claimed that he used to work with SR71s and that they could not produce them anymore because somehow they had lost the plans on how to build the engines. Thats top seceret so dont tell anyone. For many years I believed that. Just goes to show you that you cant believe everything you hear.

The point is some folks believe in marraige, commitment
and do not abuse their power, do you believe no one would turn down the bJ? Not only that but some folks would not even entertain that thought for more than 5 seconds. Especialy(you would think) someone with presidential powers.
Levi, sure its trash and undetermined
But No one eats my crews pizza and gets away with it:D
And the pilot in command could have told kerry, too bad sir we aint lifting off (wonder how long that guy would have kept his ticket) But still he was in charge not kerry
But I admited I posted this because I dont like Skerry
Demaw I didnt read yer second post I was running late for work
Hope I didnt step on yer toes to hard.

"I wonder which one of you would actualy turn an offer like that down."
I would say that anyone who thinks he WOULDN'T turn down such an offer is both foolish and spineless. Or....possibly has simply never been presented with such an offer.
Not only do I turn down such offers, If I was caught doing that sort of thing on the job (unthinkable since I'm not stupid enough to do it) then I'd almost immediately lose my job and could never work in my field again. I'd also lose my wife and probably most of my belongings in the divorce.
And...if I was such a worthless scumbag....I'd deserve it.
It's the "Three B's" that kill careers--Booze, Bribes and Broads. Seems like some politicans think they're exempt (and if the public lets them get away with it...I guess they are).

Were there anchovies on that pizza? And could you even BUY Pizza- let alone anchovies- in Southeast Asia.
Your phony Air Force "pilot" would have been more believable had he claimed Kerry and his staff ate their fish heads and rice but noooooo, he had to dumb it down so that even short bus Neo Cons can understand it.
Pizza..... mmmmmmmm......
You buncha Homer Simpson wannabees.
