Look in detail photos section.

Simpit looks great.
Question about th estick.
I've thought about getting one of thos but my hand doesnt seem to fit right in the grip.
Now Im not a BIG man but that loop or whatever the hell it is in the front is about at least a 1/2 inch too small for my hand to fit comfortably in.
How do you get your hand to fit in their comfortably.
Feel likeit was designed to fit the hand of an 11 year old.

Also wanted to ask you where did you get your instruments from?
Thanks
-
Salute Ironblade,
I'll gladly tell you sir,6 weeks of searching and bidding(and getting out-bidded sometimes) yep you have guessed it,
EBAY :D
It's amazing the stuff that comes up,i mean one guy had a whole
wooden pallet about 4' high by 3 feet by 3feet full of "surplus" oxygen masks, avg ending selling price? right around $75.00 to about $150.00.sheesh,all i would need is one.
The gauges,i was pretty lucky, found some that were up for bid starting at $9.99 and avg i was winning them right around $12.00 for 3 plus shipping ,$18.00 total. Look for BOB98 at EBAY,
he has had some great pieces, hope this helps, see ya' in tha virtual skies.
-
thank you sir

DUDE, that is fantabulous!
Where can I get scematics, blueprints, etc. for making one of these?
*edit* I found these links.... Some of the sites are for more modern, but the first one is pretty generic in design, and function...

Hey Odee, thxs sir.The design is my own,if you'd like i can send ya' measurements and you can adjust from there.First question you may want to ask is to what level you want to take it and how much jingle in the pocket? :D my current cost at this point/level is now hovering at $175.00 but alot of the items were found on EBAY and some searching around second-hand stores for joysticks(you'd be surprised how many MFF,3D PRO's precision pro's i found) .
Many thxs for the links,it's driving me crazy that i can't find more detail info on such a popular plane.I guess i'll have to resort to the tried and true method of how we use to do things,
a trip to the ..(gulp) library :D
-
Drediock,
I had the same problem with my X45 - it seemed to small for my hand. However, someone suggested to me that the pinkie extension switch comes off fairly easily. I tried it, found out that it snaps off with no problem, and now my hand fits inside comfortably. If you have bigger hands than that, I might suggest trying the CH sticks - they have a reputation for being on the large side.
-
Hey Nasty Interesting Pit,
I have a question, are the guages wired in to the game or are they just for looks?
-
at this phase, they are trial fit. They will be coming out for final fitting and modification.I'm planning to mod them to stepper motors which will get the info from dedicated pc which will also take care of reading flight data. and thxs btw :)

Roger that and please do send the measurements... I use CH Pro gear (Throttle, Pedals, and F-16 Comat stick...) Gotta upgrade the throttle to USB and then my next project will be running
Instruments, seat, padding, and all that I can get from a plane grave-yard near here for prolly dirt cheap. If not, well I;ll just fake it with a photo overlay of the real deal. Kinda static, but hey... WTF eh? :D

There used to be a guy that sold Spit IX and P-51B simpits. They were about $1000, but they were amazing. Even had sliding canopies IIRC.

Suntracker, was this someone in your home-town or on the internet? if you still have a link,i'd be interested in talking to him.
also,i'll be installing a sliding canopy as well. :)

Is this Pit for AH ??
How do those gauges work with AH ?
I didn't think you could turn off the cockpit in AH ?
-
Absolutely for AH11 :D
Just taking the game one level higher. Going with an EPIC card
which will require a dedicated PC to cover flight data and in turn
send info to gauges(which will be modified next)

He can also use it for other games, not just AH, but that is a good point.

That's a good question bigman, what i'm planning on doing is setting it up on monitor to where all i'll see before me is rounds remaining (see P51 screen next time) i'm zooming now as it is for targeting,so when i get to that point, ill just leave it.and for landing,i can always zoom back
-
UNITED! THXS SIR!:aok
Picture number 3 hits the jackpot, very nice shots.
It's fair to assume yellow handle is the one for Flaps?
and i can see now how landing gear lever is setup.Looks like ill have to re-think my throttle lever and maybe get lucky on the other handles i see in your pics.
#1 and last 3 i have.number 2 & 3 are sharp!
by all means,if you don't mind,i'll take all i can get,
thank you again sir

Nsty1, what you really REALLY want is what I have in my hot little hands atm.... 15 Aug, 1945 edition *RESTRICTED* AAF MANUAL 51-127-5 From HQ Army Air Forces for the Mustang Pilot Training....
This is a reprint actually *mint condition suggest that* of the original pilot training manual, with detailed descriptions, and pictures of all instrumentation and flight characteristics. I got my copy at a WW2 fly-in at Reading, PA air show... You can prolly get one from the Mid Atlantic Air Museum Shop fairly inexpensive... I'll do some more searching to see if I can get a link for ordering.
(EDIT) HOT DIGGITY DAWG! found it... http://www.planestuff.com/p51muspilman.html The first book listed on the page is the one I have. $22 USD so the price has gone up a bit from when I bought it for $15 USD.
Happy flying!

Message sent....
Cannot imagine why the COX one did not work, unless it was something in the Subject line that got intercepted... I have it set to delete at the server side, anything without a subject in the subject line, and a few catch phrases Spammers use...
Weird man... :aok
