I'm looking for a digital camera in the $250 - $300 range. I'm going to Germany for October fest in a couple of weeks so it needs to be fairly compact.
Are there any cameras out there that will let you interface directly with the USB Microdrives once the internal memory card is used up? Any advantages to doing it this way or is it better just to upgrade to larger memory card right off the bat?
I've been leading towards a Minolta DiMAGE Z1, which is a 3.2 MP camera with 10x optical zoom
Any help is appreciated.

I have a Minolta Z1 Dimage and I'm very satisfied with it. However they've now released the Z2 and Z3 so I would check out how much they are before taking the plunge on the Z1.
Lucky you going to Oktoberfest! I'm moving to Munich mid-October so I'll miss the 'fest' this year but I'll look forward to it next time! :)

Friend bought a Canon S1 IS and I gotta say it's going to be my next camera after I find a way to get rid of my Olympus.
Quite compact cam with optical 10x zoom and nicely working image stabilizator; It works flawlessly even when using zoom in a moving little motorboat; something I wouldn't ever be able to do with my Olympus.
