That's a Maine coon cat. They typically weigh about 15 pounds (twice most other cats). The one in the picture is obese.

I have a MaineCoon at home that weighs in at a healthy 23 pounds and he is no where near "obese" ... At least thats what the Vet tells me.  The MaineCoon breed is just a very big breed of cat.

our "ball bearing mousetrap" at work is a 25 pound male cat that can do a backflip and snag a bird out of the air.   He killed a full grown jackrabbit and ran off a black lab mix.

I named him hooligan after our squad co.
