Title: Planes on fire
Post by: kj714 on August 20, 2004, 03:18:09 PM
Hey new guys!

You hit a nme, catch it on fire, go ahead and finish the job, knock a wing off or something.

Don't pull up and start claiming that kill, as the flamer is still lethal and will be for another 30 seconds or so, shooting down your countrymen if they are in the way.

Or if you don't finish the job, don't get upset if someone else does it for you! :)

I have safely landed burning planes, you do have a bit of time.  However, as a general rule, I would think it would be bad form to shoot a plane another player has set on fire unless the enemy presented an urgent and immediate danger otherwise.

Sure, common sense applies, if there is such a thing

I killed a spit last night while my plane was on fire. He was the one that flamed me too, felt great. IMO, if an enemy plane is on fire and going any direction other than down, he's still in the fight and still a target.

If the plane hasn't exploded, it's fair game.

Even if it's missing a tail and wing and spiraling down out of control? My rule is that if it's in control and manuvering under power it's fair game.
