The P-38 is a magnet to all the enemy,(myself included). To even the odds, it would be nice to have a P-38J in OD, to make it more difficult to see the 38 against the ground. After all, we do have other models of the P-47 and P-51 that are in OD.
Hope Hi-Tech reads this and makes one up!!

The new rash of skins are player drawn and submitted. That said, the template for the 38 skin has issues keeping it from being reskined.
I hope remodeling the skin template to remove the sheen, update the resolution, and change some untouchable areas is not at the bottom of HTC list.

First, olive drab will only provide the P-38 with limited concealment when it is seen against green earth. Against the sky, water, or earth of a color besides green (desert, bare dirt, snow, etc.) it will not be of any advantage.
Second, the P-38J-25-Lo, the most significant P-38J in numbers produced, was essentially the same as the P-38L series. The P-38L did have a better engine, but it was restricted by the USAAF to the same level as that of the P-38J-25-Lo, so there is nor real difference.
Third, do not expect the P-38 to get anything soon. It does not even have the new 3D model nor the new damage model. And we've been told that current planes will likely remain the same until they have a serious number of new planes and vehicles in the game finished.
You'll find the P-38 to be low on the list for anyone but a serious P-38 enthusiast, few of which ever make it into the business end of flight sims.
And the current 3D model of the P-38 prevents any really significant changes in the skin, so there have been very few if any user skins, and I haven't seen any listed as being accepted by HTC.

Unfortunately I'd bet that it is. Especially given that Pyro and others have stated that current planes will see little attention until most of the new planes, vehicles, and features are finished.

There are some issues with the P38 skin, .e.g. mirroring is one, that has made most of us decide to wait till new model is released. Resolution wasn't the problem, we just resize the current template prior to painting.

Thats nice looking P38 skin. I fly one everyone so often for giggles. Usually get my butt shot off but its fun to try a different plane every now and then.

I know I have a MUCH easier time shooting at silver P51D's than green P51B's (mind you, didnt say HITTING them, just bein able to shoot at em)
