Some pretty serious kit for the hardcore simmer...

Yeah I posted a link to it here from around Christmas time/New Years this past Christmas. Its real similar to something that I was wanting to do and market for HOTAS setups but I found the costs for development to be to blasted high. Apparently these guys either have more money than they really need because they went so far as to apply for a patent on the various designs.
BTW the one I wanted to make wasn't going to come anywhere near the $1500 mark like their "basic" Mayfly. I am not knocking these guys for going after the market I just found that the costs of production didn't return on the investment unless I went to the same price range they went to with it. I was shooting for a sub $200 product without having to add things on like they are doing.
Great concept and I hope it works out well for them but somehow I think they bomb like HOTASS did with their setup and Thunderseat did as well.

I wonder if they've even sold one of those. Hitechs buddy at the last Texas Con had a thunderseat , looked very comfortable to fly in.

I always wanted a Thunderseat but couldn't afford one and now that I can they can't be found. As for these things from Gamedeck.com I would be willing to bet that if any have been sold it would be to some of these places that offer LAN tournaments and other things like that.
I am sure that one or two people out of a few hundred or so would buy them for home use but I wouldn't think it would be many in the general gamer population.

I think the thing that has been left out of all these gamer seats is the incline etc... If I ever build, or buy one, I want a 45 degree angle to sit back at, with screen mounts the same etc... Gaming sitting "up" at 90 degrees is uncomfortable for sustained periods of time, bad for your back and neck, and hard to control "body english" with TIR systems.

You know, its not that hard to build something like that youself, if you like. I did.
Sure, it would be made out of painted playwood, and in my case, a bucket seat saved from a Toyota from a wrecking yard, but it would be a whole lot cheaper and custom-made for your needs.

Exactly Llama I just don't see how they can sell these things to the general gamer market like they appear to want to. At least not at these ultra high prices.

Hey Llama, does Todd still have his P38 pit or did Moon make him throw it away yet?
