Title: Military Experience for CIC?
Post by: Drunky on August 23, 2004, 12:18:19 PM
To be fair to both sides, it would seem that both Bush and Kerry are fighting for the top of a very small hill.  Bush's stay in the military wasn't very demanding of him and Kerry's medals have become rather tarnished lately.

It seems that numerous of our greater Presidents didn't have any military experience and they managed to lead us through some rather tough and unique times.

Lastely, I love how some politicians say things like, "I'm the education candidate".  That is a non-starter.  Which policiton is the 'Anti-Education candidate'?

Anyone that tells learning to fly the F102 is easy is a liar.  As far as military exp.  Our system of govt is set up so that the military is run by civilians....not miltary.

the librals hold clinton up pretty high and he never served.

Ronald Reagen was a great president and the most he did was film a couple of instructional videos for the Army Air Corps  <---IIRC.

If Kerry doesnt want his military service to be questioned it should not have been 60% of his DNC nomination acceptance speech and the same amount of his campaign.

Same goes for Bush.  If he doesnt want his military service to be questioned he should not bring it up while campaigning either (wich he usually doesnt)

military experience isnt important for cic UNLESS democratic candidiot served for four months in vn and current wartime cic did not serve in vn. just ask kerry. when clinton was scared of dole all of a sudden "military experience wasnt necessary and didnt matter" at least according to kerry.

I do not think it is all that important, unless it was a long career.

Not a bad thing though.

I don't think it matters one way or the other, so long as he consults all of his advisors and military leaders before making a decision.

It makes little difference. It's not going to bear on my decison, anyway. We've had great presidents who never wore boots as well as mediocre ones who did, and just about everything in between.
