Title: Sunday night MA balance
Post by: Captain Virgil Hilts on August 23, 2004, 02:28:15 PM
I did not fly Saturday night, our usual squad night, because I was smoking 30# of ribs and drinking 20 longnecks.

Sunday I flew at around 6 PM Central and again from 11 PM Central to near 2 AM.

The sides were even. I will give that much credit to the new system.

However, rather than having 200+ each, the highest I saw was around 145 or so.

That means either 60+ Rooks did not fly Sunday night, for whatever reason (I noticed MANY "faces" missing), or a bunch switched sides. The missing were actually good pilots, not anyone I'd call a "no talent horde monger".

Anyone know which it was?

While the balance is a good thing, do we now have 60 players not flying at least one night they'd usually fly?

Just wondering.

I logged in about 8pm EST and saw a Rook horde.

Something like 200 Rooks, 150 Knights and 170 Bish.

Logged off. (Only cause my wife came home in a foul mood)

When I gave up yesterday evening around 2100 EDT (I think) it was:

Rooks over 210
Knights around 120
Bishops around 130 or 140

I think many along with myself are losing the desire to play. Changes in game or changes in me. I think its a bit of both. We'll see what happens this winter. Summer really kills the player count for the game.

A few rook faces were on Knits, but when I logged at about 8:00 pm Pacific time, the rooks still had a very solid stick advantage.

Did ya look at in the air sticks? A possible factor in your MIA's  may be some people who used to log on for a while and then stay in, but are not playing, anticipating a reset and are now out after an hour I believe.

never give up nerver surrender

knites motto when theres 4 of us against 15

guess it does help you become a better player fending off the hord all the time.

been killing alot more rooks this month as opposed to bish last month.

just the facts jack.

i say keep ganging up, im the one who's going to improve in skill by killing all you vulcher's, porkers, buff freaks, gv hounds, hq raiders.

sounds like fun keep up the hord:aok

Not Surrendering just saying I have more things going on in my life going on durring the summer that take priority over AH any day of the week and twice on sunday. Like BBQ's, going out driving on a nice night, ummm partys. When the wheather is nice, the last thing I am thinking about is coming inside to play any game. No matter how fun it is.

Winter is different. You can only go play on the snowmobile for so many hours before it gets old. Thats when AH is a saving grace.

Also for me, the 1000's of hours I've played over the past few years have given me a good reason to take some time off. There is life outside of this game ju know. :)

LOL You musta left just before it started and came back just after it ended.

Highest count of rooks I had on the night was 200.

They did well, actually seemed to have a plan to start it off and everything.

Heh, Your probably in your early 20's and  either not married or dont have any kids.

Have e few kids and you willl be amazed at how much time you spend at home when you would rather be doing something else..
Wife may be "the ol ball and chain" But kids can be downright anchors lmao

I had a blast all weekend. I love being the underdog int he early war planes. Balancing works for me.

Yeah, I agree sunking. The underdog thing is alot of fun and it can even more fun with many of the early war planes.

Rooks used to be the underdog at the time I had switched over to them. It was great fun flying with them a year or so ago. Then before I knew it we had over 200 players on and some nights over 300.

It sucks to leave them but there was just too many players flying for the Rooks.

That is indeed entirely possible. I watched the numbers as I flew, and don't remember seeing any great disparity. However, in the midst of defending a base from a conveyer belt of Tiffies and Elgay's, with a side of Spits, I probably flew for around an hour or so without having time to check balance. Was in the 140-150 area for all for much of the time I was on. Don't remember seeing the Rooks approach 200, but it could well have happened. Used to seeing around 200 or so for most of the evening on Sundays.

Savage:

Rooks had about 200 between 8 - 10 PM central time.  As Midnight stated because of the numbers the 412th went to the Bishops who had the lowest numbers.

Okay, that makes sense. I left the house at 8 and got back around 11.
