Title: Let the Circus Begin!(Thurs. Mission)

On Jan 10, 1941 the RAF began Circus Operations, they were coordinated bomber and fighter attacks on targets in France.

Six Blenheims of 114 Squadron were escorted by 72 fighters(Spitfires/Hurricanes) on an attack against an ammunition depot South of Calais.

The Circus operations of 1941 were contested by a very worthy foe, with the principal defenders being JG2 "Richthofen" and JG 26 "Schlageter"

This weeks mission will be a representation of one of these circus operations against a target in Calais.  With the RAF having sucessfully defended the "Home Island", yet still standing alone(8th is on it's way), turns to the offensive.

The Luftwaffe defeated in the Battle of Britain, but still a very strong and dangerous opponent.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RAF's Mission

Launch a small Boston raid(6-15) on a target to be determined in the Calais region of France.  This raid is to be heavily escorted with the intent of drawing the Luftwaffe up for a fight.  Although plane type is not mandated, a good mix of Hurricanes and Spitfires would be appreciated.

Luftwaffe's Mission

To protect Germany's assests in France, to destroy the RAF's bombers and MOST importantly avoid excessive losses in engaging the escorting fighter screen.

As always these mission are open to all players, just ask for your cooperation in return.

880 Squadron will be flying RAF this week and I'm assuming JG54 will be Axis.  Since most other CT squads are Allied if you are an individual pilot  it would be appreciated if you could give the Axis a hand.

Look forward to see many of you on Thursday night.  Hopefully we get some crazy people that want to actually fly the bombers.:)

Arlo, what is that music soundtrack on the TFT page?    Man it's awesome....!  Wanna say it's BoB, but not sure.  Starts out almost like the soundtrack from The Blue Max!

Your main page is from 633 Squadron.... Mossie all time favorite of mine!

Gimme a title so I can nab it up, eh?
