So there is a lot of speculation over what the new bombers is going to be in the main forum. What bomber would the CT flyers like to see?

In maybe this order, but we could argue about that:
He-111
Ki-49 "Helen"
Il-4
Do-217
SM-79 "Sparveiro"
Vickers Wellington
North American B-25 Mitchell
Cant 1007 "Alcione"
Pe-2
Potez 631
H8K "Emily"
PBY-5 "catalina"
Aichi D4A "Judy"
Bristol Blenheim
After that, these (in no order):
Ju-52
Ki-21 Sally
B-24
Hs-123
Savoia Marchetti SM. 81
Su-2
Pe-8
He-177
Fiat Br 20
Hampden
Maryland
Baltimore
A-26
SB2 Helldiver
Arado 196
Cant Z.501
I'm sure I forgot several.
-
Agree with He-111 being number one. SM-79 would be kinda a unique and interesting addition.
-
Good possibilities, but whatever bomber is added better have reasonable defensive armament or it will be just another museum piece, admired but rarely flown.

Well ... guess I'll just ditto my buddy Sakai. :aok

I'm hoping for a Swordfish or a Skua, or maybe a B-18 Bolo.

Psssst .... this is CT's take on it. What's the great defensive armament on the Kate? It gets flown here. :D
-
Oh yeah, I also want an SB2U Vindicator, or a TBD Devastator.
-
Sure. Until then, I'd settle for a nicely rendered skin to magically convert the Kate. Hehe
-
Nooooooo.....Kate is to UBER!!
-
I stand by my guess that we're getting the B-24.
-
Er, Sakai, I think a Russian bomber needs to be a higher priority than all that.

Yep, so does the Val. I musta been mislead by the multi engines on the original proposal.
True nostalgia demands eventual inclusion of the Wellesley, TB-3, and CANT Z.506B.

I know what it is but I can't tell ya...nanny nanny booo booo! I will say that Sakai has a pretty good idea of what is being brought up for near future additions; including the upcoming bomber.
To answer all you who don't believe that I know it lets just say that I saw the Ki-84 about a week or so before Natedog posted the screenshots of it and Superfly is working on the bomber. When I saw it the bomber didn't have a texture at all and Superfly was finishing up a few problem areas.
Also the new models support having different textures in the formerly mirrored areas like the underside of wings and tail sections.

Why is this such a big secret?

We could tell you, but then we'd have to kill you.

Hell ... I die all the time. No big deal. But you don't got the beans to spill so I'll kill you instead. :D

.squelch Arlo :)

B24 would be about the final straw in the MA for me. That is all we need right now is anothe ubber American bomber with the 50 bizillion 50 cals that are lazers still.
-
PE-2:D
-
So Skull are you trying to say you are going to quit the game if the B-24 is the next bomber...Come on man, make a stand on an issue.
Just kidding with ya Skull. :p
-
another bomber is about as exciting as another gv - LOL

Il-4 and Pe-2, along with the Il-2 which we alreday have, provided the bulk of Soviet Bombers outside the lend lease. Since we already have the A-20, we have arguably the best soviet bomber with wide use.
I listed both planes in the first cut, as noted we can argue about which goes first. I'd love to see the Il-4 next, or the Pe-2 which would get use in the MA as well. My gut feeling though is we will get the He-111 next.
Heck, even though they did not get much use, I would love to see the Pe-8, Piaggio 108 and the He-177. But what I want more than anything is the early desert war, early Russian fornt planeset.

Gotta have the TB-3. Something mesmerizing about a four-engine monoplane bomber with an open cockpit and fixed landing gear. Fun just watching them trundle along in IL-2/FB/AEP. Even Fighter Ace has the TB-3.
And the Wellesley -- longest wingspan of any WWII single-engine warplane, and with those two weird bomb pods (?) underwing.
And the CANT Z.506B -- can't be without one of the ubiquitous Italian trimotors, especially one atop two big pontoons.
-
or maybe a B-18 Bolo.
Put down your crack pipe Grits... whats the matter, can't find a more obscure plane to add to the list?
I'd put my bet on He-111 :aok

Gotta love them.
The Heron is one of my all time favorites. TB3 only after many otehrs made. The Chinese used some against the Japanese so we could justify it in early Pac setups with P-40Bs and Claudes.
Just need the claude . . .
Also would love to see the Short Stirling and the Sunderland.

That is my way of making fun of the B-29 types, go the opposite direction with the B-18. :)

I'd have all the "average" twin engined planes, early war fighters, various float planes and dive bombers modeled before I would add the B-29, He-177 or even the B-24. I'd love to see them all, but lets add the odd ducks and flesh out the early war set first. There is not much disserence between a flight of B17s and a flight of B24s.

If I was going to make a serious guess of what I think it is going to be I'd say He-111. I think that many other planes, but especially an Italian and Russian buff are sorely needed before another US heavy.
-
I agree we don't need any more US heavy right now but i think the bomber is going to be PE-2 because one we already have Two german bombers in our arsenal.
-
How about the SM-79 because the Russians at least have the IL-2 (and, of course, lend-lease)? ;)

My bet is on the He-111.

How about the SM-79
We already have enough of the wishy-washy french types considering how little they actually did anything cunstructive with us. :rofl
-
FB-111.......:D

Yeah ... and those Italian Frenchmen were the worstest. ;)

Those dang French can go back to Italy where they came from for all I care. :D

Jean Todt was a sucessful Rally (the Finnish National sport) co-driver before he began his managing career, so he is OK in my book. :)
