I'd sure like to see two little things done to the icon system..

We currently have the ability to switch friendly icons to indicate plane type; pilots handle or no icons. (thanks HT!) Unfortunatly, there's no in the textbox confirmation of the switch position. So; if yer outta visual range of a friendly; you can quite easily wind up with the icons accidentily turned to 'off'.. and that can be a nasty surprise when somebody DOES get close.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

How about an in the textox confirmation for icon switches like the 'doors open' & 'doors closed' one we get when we toggle the door switch?

Next.. It sure would be nice to get a .squadHL command that works like the current .wingman command. This way; our squaddies could all be highlighted white.. and we'd know where they are...

This would help quite a bit those of us that fly in squads but don't have RW capability. Situational Awareness in the sim is very much predicated on knowing at a quick glance what/who is around you... squad highlighting would bring a great improvement to our SA, and make squad ops more enjoyable.

  Well, since you asked, I think these are both great ideas!   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

  Especially the squad one, except I would prefer to have your wingman still highlighted in a different color.  That way, you could pick your squaddies out, but the wingman who's your direct responsibility still stands out from the rest of the squad.  (Presently reading "Bud" Anderson's Mustang experiences, and he's been relating, yet again, the importance and responsibilities of a wingman.)

Never thought of the two color highlight.. man if they could do that, then it'd be waaaay better'n WB's! Great Idea.

Sounds like a plan!
although in the back of my mind I still wonder why WE cant pick the colors ourselves..countrys, radio chat..ect..
I know id love to change the lil black dots to somethin I can actually see well enough to get a bead on with the Icon glaring in my face in a merge...

SQUAD highlite THAT ws what i was missing ! TY! ..maybe you just want to have an option that highlites all people on a certain cahnnel (e.g. squad , or any other joit ops channel) like .hlchannel xxx

and yea text message for toggle options would be great as Hang said

I wrote the squad hilight toggle today. And also implemented a text message for the icon toggle.
