Okay I was going to get windows xp sp1 oem. There is a windows cp sp1 Retail upgrade. Does upgrade mean I need to have servicepack 1 oem. To upgrade our I can just buy it retail? I am less than 10 hours before buying computer.

Get the windows xp SP1 oem. have no fear SP2 will be comming out soon and you will soon know the joy of constant updates from microsoft. Happy computing

Actually SP2 is out. Got it last nite. So far so good. The built in firewall does appear to be a bit more proactive now however.

Thnx wildcrd for advice. Havent see you to lately. okay I will go with oem version.
