Title: Nose art - how far?
Post by: Kev367th on August 27, 2004, 10:53:16 PM
Found this spit 9
Flown by Gustav Lundquist (USAF), Boscombe Down Flight Trials Unit, 1944.
Too much, or acceptable , nose art wise.
I suppose same question applies to P51,B17 etc.

I'd hope any WWII noseart would be aceptable.  But who knows what laws will affect it.  German laws regarding the swastica certainly have an effect.

hehe, I like it.

I wanted to do one on my B17 but I chickened out and went the safe way.  I can tell you it will be rejected if the nose art interferes with the squad art so make sure there's no overlap.

Wheres the squad art on a Spit9, can't remember lol?

Same question goes for this Spit 5, F/O Jack Shephard, RAF Biggin Hill, Oct 43.

I think they are great.
But in todays absurdly oversensitive world of political correctness
One never knows.

Gonna bash on with it, still have to rework upper/lower wings for a 5b panel arrangement. Lucky its close enough to Seafire 2c it's not a big job.
Anyone had any luck with yellow leading edge stripes for a Spit 5?

If you have to get "PC" about it later, just add the black censorship boxes over the naughty parts.
