OK, so I am thinking last night (a dangerous thing) and I think, OK, custom skins are nice, but since the MA is not really about historical accuracy, how about a chance to see some real handywork from the skinners out there.
So, how about this:
Every month HTC allows people to submit skins for every plane and vehicle, historical or not (skins, that is). They review the skins and decide (by whatever process) what they think it the best one for each GV and plane. They then make those available for download (through the same process you download skins now) and for a month you have a customized skin of historical/ahistorical/alternate timeline/whatever origin. Just one skin per GV and aircraft (if they even have the submissions) or they could decide on none of them (if they all suck). They could even make special mention of the "winners" here in the forum.
I think it would be fun to see what some of these guys (and gals) could do and it would add a greater level of community involvement.
Comments and suggestions welcome.

I like the idea of a contest but I think it should be limited to either historical or at least historical looking.
Meaning I dont think things like pink barbie spits or
Fed-Ex C47's hould be allowed
And even if they did go for a contest I dont think HTC would allow those anyway.
As the norm I'd like to see HTC allow not just actual historical skins of aircraft that wre actually flew by people but historical looking skins of the players own design.
By historical looking I mean a plane that looks like it coulda flown in that time period even if that particular artwork/paint scheme was never actually used such as nose art, camo etc
Dont think they will ever allow it. but I'd like to see it
