Hey Guys,

After many happy years with the 3 axis joysticks, I am ready to try the seperate joystick, throttle, and rudder peddal setup.  My first inclination was to just buy the Cougar with CH Pro peddals and get moving on my cockpit construction.  After a bit of reading, I am not so sure that the cougar is the setup for me.  I do not want to fiddle with the joystick (replace pots, springs, etc).  My main reason for wanting to make the switch is I am tired of the spikey 3 axis sticks that don't seem to give very good control of the rudder.  Swithing to a new controller is going to be painful, as like most others, I get used to a setup and don't like changing.  More than anything I want to avoid spiking issues.  AH2 is incredibly sesitive in the flight envelop to spikes and more than once I have stalled or missed a shot because my current stick spiked.  My gunnery/flight skills are certainly not the best, and as such I wan't to remove anything else in the loop that can cause a problem.  Simply, other than cougar, which HOTAS and rudder pedal setup is the least maintenance intensive, most reliable, and above all the least spikey?  Also, does anyone have any cockpick plans that they would be willing to share.  Nothing terribly fancy just something sturdy that will hold up and be comfortable.

CH Products Fighterstick, Pro Pedals and Pro Throttles all USB. Great quality. Great service. Have been using them on both Mac and PC platforms for years.

I picked up my CH Pro HOTAS USB right before we went to AHII.  My previous set up was a Microsoft Sidewinder Pro.  Once I got it set up and became comfortable with all the buttons, my flying improved tremendously.  When you make the switch and become comfortable with your set up, do a carrier landing.  I think you'll find the difference is very noticable.

After going through all the research, I went with the CH USB line.  I've been flying with it since June and haven't regretted my purchase for a second.  I regret that I don't have a more powerful pc and that I don't have enough time to play as much as I like.  But I don't regret the CH products.  :aok

make sure if you buy ch products that you buy all usb. I have read of some problems with combining usb and game port stuff.
