Thanks to Guppy and Nomde. The help passed around here is what makes it so much fun.

fantastic nopoop. only thing i see that differs from the picture...

the vertical panel lines on the top of the rear fuselage behind the cockpit look to thick compared to what the real thing looks like.

also on the right side of the tail it should probably be repainted darker olive drab over the old white band like it is on the left side.

it loosk fantastic though great stuff can't wait to use it.
p47d11 is my favorite jug.

Good catch citabria. I spaced it...because I'm a dope.  I'll change that as you said. Thanks !!

With the thickness of the panel lines on the rear fuse I think I found something after looking at generic skins or skinners that blow up the original.

While the width of the panel lines there is too much, if they're exagerated, then when backed off they look better for some reason. I left the wing shadows normal for 3 and 9 o'clock views out the cockpit and bumped the shadows up on the fuse. I don't know why but it looks a little better at a "normal" view ingame to me.

Best I use Adobe Photoshop and make a layer for every change I fiddle with. If it's weathering, I'll make a new layer of weathering and mess with it. If it doesn't work out I'll just delete it. If it does ?? I'll merge it. With cowl flaps I probably had 6 or 7 layers of weathering experimentation. When all the experiments are done and the way I want them, I merge them. Two layers, "cowl flaps" R and L.

Glad you guys like it.

also the demarcation line between the neutral grey and olive drab might need a little blurring. looks a little sharp for simulated spray painting.

Thanks Guppy you da man.

Fester this is what I found. While they ARE thick up close, at "normal" ingame ranges they don't disappear. If they were closer to correct proportion you wouldn't see them at this range. I don't know if that is right, but it just "looks" better to me.

jpg doesn't show it as it is ingame. There's a hint of lines in game instead of searching for them in this jpg :)

Took everyones suggestions. Added kill markings and name plate.
Added a darker green stripe to the right side stablizer and blurred the olive where it meets the lower grey. Changed the spinner to silver.

Thanks for the advise and thanks alot for your interest.
Makes it alot of fun. I'll post it up over at the skins department.

The most recent pic makes me drool.  :D  Bravo, nopoop!

O, and the first pic, which shows how similar your skin is to the real thing, just shows how impressive your work is...every one of you skinners.

I just noticed that the noseart is a little too far back.  The red line should intersect the noseart right down the middle.

The noseart looks like it needs to be a little larger, too.
Should the invasion stripes be dirtier?

No matter...just telling you what I noticed.

Love that jug!!!

Just a quick question ...

Why is the star in a blue circle while the orginal appears to have the star contained in a circle of the same color as the plane's empanage ? ... along with the white bar being lined in black ?

Also, the invasion stripes on the bottom look like they need to be faded a little.

Don't get me wrong here poop ... I love this skin and my D25 is already sporting your invasion stripped Jug skin.

Poop, that is absolutely terrific work. :)

Only one little tiny comment I would make about it... your panel-line / rivet-work is perfect, but the outlines of the movable surfaces (ailerons, stabs, rudder, and cowl flaps) need to be a little bit darker, to better give the illusion that they are separate pieces attached to the airframe.

Completely outstanding work. WTG!

Just because I think this skin is almost too good and may even make me rethink flying blue planes, I'll nitpick:

The forward white invasion stripe in the photo goes up to the middle of the N - looks to go up even with the top of the bar on the insigne. On your skin, nopoop, it stops at the bottom of the insigne bar.

Thanks guys.

Slap your not suppose to see that !! One benifit of finally getting the bottom which you don't see correct is you no longer have to fiddle with it on every skin. If I mess with the lower side of the fuse I have to completely redo and mess with the lower wings. When the new 1024 3D skins are released I'll get a more decerning.

While the photo of the star thing gives the impression of what you comment, I have a kickprettythang plate and an "OK" plate that show the paint as pictured. Same as Samiam (good call) noticing the invasion stripe thingy. Both plates show it as pictured.

Slap all you have to do is show me how to fly the damm thing. I'm so rusty I squeak and Ammo has taken a hiatus. Love the plane, but can't do squat in it.

Dux thanks man, when the terrain thing comes "really" available I'm gonna be full of questions. I'll try some shadow stuff on the one I'm working on now but for the life of me I can't get it to look like I want. I'll fiddle it.

to all

Wow Thats Nice work on all of thos P47s

The only thing is that in that Image. . . . is that there is more contrast between the 2 tones of green ,,, and there is alot more wear/tear and dirt on it. .  .. (me like the dirty birdy)

But that is some sweet textureing. .

Hey I have a General Question ,,,,  for anyone
How do you make a dotted line in photoshop?
im considering putting rivits on my typhoon

Most rivets that are made on skins are done pixel by pixel.  Once you get a bunch done, copy and paste.  Thats what I do.  There may be an easier way to do it, but I havent figured it out yet.
