I've just uploaded my latest skin to The Skin Department (http://www.ah-skins.com/index.php). It's an F6F-3 of VF-5 flying from the USS Yorktown in early 1944. This particular aircraft has a possibly field applied 3 tone paintjob and has had its red-bordered insignia overpainted dark blue.
I'm in two minds about the paint chipping. One minute I think it looks overdone, then I come back to it a little later and it looks like it needs more. What do you think?

Dark Bloo does nothing for me...

No, it looks good, maybe the top of the engine could use some also though?

Looks great Greebo !! As always.
I find the more skins I do, the more I want to beat them up :D

any plans to make another 3 tone f6f3 variant with a red bordered star insignias? :D

Thanks guys, the tri colour scheme is so much more interesting to skin than the late war monocolour one.
Unfortunately it isn't possible to put anything except the cowl shadow above the nose, since the skin stretches everything widthwise in that area.
I could do the VF-9 F6F-3 below as a skin, although it would need a number change due to the fuselage sides being mirrored. Another possibility would be the last of the five profiles, the Cdr. David McCampbell F6F-3.
There are a couple of two tone mid blue/grey F6F-3s I've got pictures for. Not sure if HTC would accept those though, as they weren't used in combat. I also plan on doing another camouflaged FAA Hellcat with South Pacific markings.

Awesome, greebo! That weathering on the upper wing surface is great!
I like your next choice. We definitely need a Hellcat with the red-bordered stars and bars.
