Title: REALLY crappy mic.
Post by: OOZ662 on August 31, 2004, 04:36:40 AM
Is there any software out there to quadruple my microphone's volume?

I have to put the end of the dang thing almost up my nose and talk so that I get a barely decent sound back into AH. The mic volume in windows and AH is maxed, the boost turned on, and I have it muted in the volume contol because I don't want to hear what I'm saying coming through my speakers. Un-muting it gives it a tiny tiny tiny volume upgrade, but not enough to be worth it.

Any idea how to fix it? lol

Using an SB 16 PCI

I have, and can really recommend, the Plantronics DSP300 (http://www.plantronics.com/europe_union/en_GB/catalog/display_product_detail.jhtml?rootId=cat1200109&prodId=prod440040&productTypeId=cat1200104) - digital, USB and crystal clear quality.  :)
