Title: CRAAAAAZY Perk multipliers!

Tonight I was flying bishop (my squad flies free agent for whatever side needs us or seems to)

At one point only 3 people were on bishop in the MA, myself, my wingman and one other guy.

I so I dropped a 1k bomb on a tiger from my p38 for 1 kill, landed for 120.41 perks

Then I took off in a 109G6 and quickly dispatched an La7 for 160.00 perks

Then a few more missions for lesser bonuses.  

Meanwhile my wingman reported a single La7 kill for 178 perks
and a base capture in an m3 for a whopping 199 vehicle perks.  But the handsomehunk didn't take screenshots.

Is this kind of multiplication of perks intended?

I hate to say this, but I'd swear I'm seeing less numbers online ever since the ENY patch was added on. Doesn't matter if you like or don't like the changes, the numbers have been way down since.

I'm curious if subscriptions have dropped too.

The perk mult is an exponetial function. And it is based off the time you take off. So if you realy did only have 3 players at take off time, the multiplyier would have been huge.


Havn't ever seen this as an issue before, but I could put a cap on the multipler of 10?

I think some kind of a cap would be a good idea.     Maybe even both a minimum and a maximum...

Why ? ... for the amount of times it happens ... who cares. Give 'em all the perks they can earn. Its not like you can cash them in for hard cash, you can only buy virtual planes with them and very rarely do they get used anyways.

I was online when the bish were down to 3 players.  It really not THAT odd in the wee hours of the morning.  I would guess this was 5-6am central time ish.  It is quite normal to see the bish with very low #'s during the early morn.  Around 6-7am cent. they start login' back in w/ a vengance, and typically by 8am have the most numbers.

putting a minimum would be nice so folks could actually earn perks if they wanted them on a side that has the higher numbers.  The instantaneous number of folks on one side or the other is not the fault of the individual nor is it an indication of how many of the other 2 teams are actually hitting the high number team.

Adding more reasons for folks to want perks would create a real demand for them and give the perk multiplier a purpose beyond pissing folks off and losing customers.

I see no need at all. For my money, you can leave the cap off, and you can increase the rate at which perk costs drop for the outnumbered country dramatically.


I have nothing to gain from this, as I have not been in a ride with an ENY greater than 15 or so in quite some time, and I rarely grab a perk ride, and then only the 152.  I'd just like to see people that like perk rides rewarded for flying against the odds, and sticking around to fight. I think it is good for the overall health of the game.

now theres a name that rings a bell.  even though i lost the tiger it was the most fun i've had in this game in a long time. and there were only 3 bish on at the time. about 5-6am eastern. looking foward to paying you back tonite

End of summer, last minute vacations, Labor Day holiday weekend, back to school, etc.. people got better stuff to do than  play the game. I spent most of the weekend getting ready to go to the river, didn't play much.

I don't seem to see any less rooks on, they were the most affected by the eny patch.

Also notice how after all the "this n that" over eny, not many switched? Still works good though, IMHO.

Hitech,

No need for a cap on perks or the perk mulitplier at all.   I very rarely if ever up a perk plane.  I used to have 300 fighter perks and burned them all up on a disasterous 262 mission.    Even if I have the fighter perks I never use them.      I also very rarely up Tigers even tho I am a GV fanatic.    I have plenty of GV perks but don't use em that much.    


Leave things the way they are.   It would be really nice to be able to earn that many perks on one mission when the numbers are that low.     Kinda like a early Christmas if you will.      Its the little things like that where you can earn some big time perks that makes your day even if you don't use em.     Who knows,maybe one day I will start using mine up soon.

My vote is to leave the perks(multiplier)  as is.    If its not broke don't fix it.

I have to come in on the side of leaving multipliers as they are.  Last night was an rather exceptional - I have never encountered that sort of population imbalance before.
That said, it was fun as hell on voice chat yelling insanely to each other as we landed ridiculous perks.  It was a rare situation that should remain a possibility, unlikely as it is.  Also, keep in mind, we killed LA7s (5 ENY) in 109 G6s (40 ENY,) so we started with a rather hefty base perk value.
