Title: Friendly FIre
Post by: CurtissP-6EHawk on September 01, 2004, 08:24:29 AM
I ment to post this a week ago and forgot.
I really hate the friendly ack fire. It should be enabled during PTO but I am not sure about ETO. Reasoning being:

Friendly Fleet ack actually helps Kates and Vals. It keeps allied aircraft at a distance when the bombers get close. This may help bring in more IJN bombers. The other day I was after some Kates. The closer they got to the ships, the more I got hit by friendly fire. Its realistic. Same goes with TBMs and SBDs.

On the other hand its too much of a plus for Ki-67s as well as the typical field capping. The field capping may not be much of a problem since the guns can be killed more easily.

What you guys think?

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say but I think it may lay outside the ability of any of the CM's to control.  The isn't a setting (to the best of my knowledge) to tell ack not to fire when friendly players are in range.

AAA should be set to .7 which is standard but I am pretty sure there is no setting that allows us to enable "Friendly Fire".

I have many times. Its worse when you chase or get chased through fleet AA. Most times I usually dont get any damage but I have a few times.
