Yes he is.  I for one am happy because I do not beleive the girl in this case

BUT, I do beleive the prosecution retained the right to Re-try him if they feel fit.

The girl had no case. To walk in and say something like, "the first time was consensual, but the second time it wasn't" is ridiculous. The DA should have just thrown it out rather than waste tax dollars on it.

How embarrassing. Although she will still drag this through civil court in hopes he will settle. I hope he doesnt. I'd do my best to run her legal fees through the roof.

The story floating around is Kobe came a knockin' at the backdoor the 2nd time, got a little rough and she didn't like it.

can't retry him, he just about admitted to the rape in his apology to her, she will not have to work a day in her life after the settlement..

Or after the book, the movie, and the mini-series.

He committed adultery.   You don't buy your wife a $6 million dollar ring, if "you are innocent".

He'll get nailed (no pun intended) in the Civil Suit.

Karaya

I'm glad the Lakers imploded after the throttling of my Detroit Pistons.

My understanding of his speech is he was sorry that she felt he raped her, and he was apologizing for any anguish brought on to her, her family, and the town.  Sounds like a stand-up thing to do considering she was threatening and did take away his livelyhood.

The apology was part of the settlement, and the alleged victim agreed that it could not be used against Bryant in the civil case.  I wouldn't exactly view it as a stand up sort of thing in that context.
