Title: Pit Bull On the loose
Post by: Drifter1234 on September 01, 2004, 09:01:12 PM
I would not leave my house if I lived in ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.

Pit Bull bites off man's genitals and is still on the loose.

Alright, I will bite.

I own two pit-bulls. Really nice dogs. Mostly house dogs. I think its the owners. Yes, they are naturally agressive blah blah.

Aren't Dalmations (sp) the most notorious dogs for biting for no reason?

It ain't the breed, it's the owner, and the way the dog grew up...

Yeah, I read so many stories about redneck ****ers raising killer Yorkies....

No no no no no....

I met a pit-bull raised by a leftist Pennsylvanian soccer mom that was on the verge of making a concerted play for my left nut.

North/South politics doesn't even enter their minds. I'm not sure they even know what "redneck" means.

Maybe if they started putting down the owners instead of the dogs.

Now there's a thought.

They should put the idiot breeder that sold the dog right next to the owner.

Herding dogs are bred to round things up in tight circles, Dachsunds are bred to hunt rats, sled dogs are bred to run a long way w/out getting tired, and fighting dogs are bred to tear into flesh.  Sometimes breeding really does come out despite a good owner.

Heck, it's been six months or so since this was last hashed out.  It's about time for it to come up again.

A properly trained dog that is not inbred and retarded is not a problem.

The problem is inbred and retarded owners of dogs that demand the best most responsible owners possible.

For example, Rotties should never have been so popular, and breeders should have been FAR more responsible. A Rottie is a dog that MUST be properly trained and well cared for. It is not a dog for the average dog owner or the general public. Period.

The pitbull is no different. It simply is not a dog for just anyone.

There are plenty of dogs that just about anyone can own.

But "working" dogs like Rotties, Aikidas, German Shepherds, Dobermans, and others should not be sold to 99% of people who buy them.

It is the responsibility of the breeder to see that he produces an animal of the finest quality and places it properly. People are generally stupid, and it is the dog that eventually pays the price.

The AKC and other organizations that SHOULD be looking out for the best interest of the breeds are a joke. They do nothing to stop irresponsible breeders from inbreeding and generally breeding females to death. They also do nothing to prevent breeders from breeding dogs with poor health or other problems. You can just about breed a female to its father, brother, or son, and easily get papers. They allow the dogs to become excessively common, and the breeders, hungry for a dollar, will sell a dog to ANYONE.

The DOG doesn't know any better. The PEOPLE do. Blame the PEOPLE.

The DOGS are bred and raised (and supposedly trained) by PEOPLE. Perhaps rather than eliminating the BREED we should do something about the PEOPLE.

I had a friend whose mother bred and raised chows, and in fact owned the world champion. He (my friend) was murdered 20 years ago, so I haven't seen his parents in years, but I don't remember any of her dogs being agressive. Not to say they could not be provoked, but there were not generally agressive.

Maybe the pit-bull had been fed left over hot dog's, and so got a taste for testicals?

I own a Pit-Bull, Bailey. She's the sweetest dog I've ever had or seen. She loves people and wants nothing more than to lick 'em and be petted. It's how they are raised.

My wife and her family have farms with cattle, pit-bull's are used on the farms to catch bulls, they grab 'em by the snout and actually bring the bull down, they won't let go until you tell them to. It's quite amazing to see a 60 Lb dog bring down a 1500 lb bull.

Ask any Vetenarian. More people are bitten by cocker spanials than any other breed. 2 to 1.

The problem with a few breeds like Pit Bulls, Rotties, etc is that if they decide to bite.
They can do SERIOUS harm.

I dislike cockers and it is annoying to get bit by one but.... they won't bite off your genitals.

I am for shooting the owners but since the girly men here frown on that I will simply shoot the dog.

It's the breeding since about 1989 or so.

Proprerly bred Pit's is the problem.

If you read the history of the PitBull I think you will find that in the past any pitbull that even offered to bite a human was put down.  They were considered too dangerous.

Then along comes the badboys and gangbangers wanting there pose dog and some breeders even breed em to bite people now.

Training em to NOT bite people can be tuff.  So a little note that MAY help if you buy a pit.

Select your puppy.  Place your hand near the puppies mouth.  If the puppy puts It's mouth on your hand or trys to chew on your hand then recommend you find another puppy. Possibly even from another litter.

The puppies can be very different even from the same litter.  One will actually try to chew on your finger where another will turn it's head away and avoid it.   The better bred ones will require you to force your finger into their mouths.

Now comes the fun part! Training.

If they even offer to bite in play :( .....

just get another dog :(

That is MHO.

Crappy breed... should be eradicated.

yep... just like real ranchers and farmers put down dogs with bad habits.   It is good to have a dog but it is a dog... if it shows bad traits it needs to be put down.  It is far more important to follow this simple rule if the dog is large and strong or travels with other dogs.

was not picking on pit bulls.

Was wondering why a guy was necked with a pit bull.

What is the difference between a Pit Bull Humping your leg and a Cocker Spaniel Humping your Leg?

You let the Pit Bull Finish.

UK biggest biter lastime i checked was g/shephard then alsatian then jack russell #3

I had 3 rotties and rotts at the time were number 11

Now my rotts were a bro n sis and a straggly runt from a diff litter

Next door old git had a g/shepherd ............

Mine played with the children/followed them/picked them up when fallen !! yeah a million bux if i had that on film but had a chippie (uk carpenter and a plasterer gasping in amazement watching it happen) guarded them seemed to worry about them when they fell poorly

They were brought up with children and both were taught to respect each other

Thus anyone could visit they would maybe try n jump on em n lick em to death but hey they were softies

Luckily training and having great stock/blood lineage boded well for these cuties

whereas mr git next door had to chain his ***** g/shepherd up while even his daughter visited

Caught the git one morning trying to entise my best m8 (keiser) to the dividing hedge so he could tip scolding hot tea on him
I fly in AH but by gawd i flew through that hedge and almost give the git a connery, If he had of completed his dirty deed i would of done time for what i would of done to him

Dogs are dogs owners are owners
Some dogs are born nuts and end up dying nuts
Some owners are born nuts and end up dying nuts
Put a nutty dog with a nutty owner is trouble
Putting a nutty dog with a sane right-minded dog-lover you still get trouble (most cases i guess in some ways)

Most dogs are sane and treated right will obay even the daftest command and any dogs i have had the pleasure to own were raised to obay be friendly and most of all trust-worthy with people

I would jump at being able to have another "hell dog" as they got labelled here in the uk (ohh btw maxwell before his swim made o lot of money from his newspaper empire in the uk by running a lengthy kind of anti-rotty campaign)
Funny thing was his most beloved pet dogs were rotts ;-)

Dog/s born fubar need humane putting down to save any hastle
If dog was ok and owner was nuts i say put them down

Any rott owners out there you know where i coming from
If your after a decent sized sane/loving/considerate/trustworthy and i gotta stress highly intelligent dog you wouldn't go far wrong with a registered rotty pup with a healthy and checkable bloodline

As for owners teasing dogs it repulses me and i hope they come to a nasty end of their own doing

From the article:

"Shortly after the attack Monday, Gov. Bill Richardson released a statement saying he would proposed legislation next year aimed at holding owners of dangerous dogs accountable for their pets."

IMO it's way overdue. Sounds like this guy was the owner of the dog that took his genitals. Can't say I have much sympathy for him.
