Near wing about 90% complete, far wing 60%.
Fuselage 50% done.
Skin is a fuggin nightmare, see why no-one tried one yet.
Anyone got a guide for walk here lines/lettering etc?

WHOA!
You been working really hard on that one. Great job with the rivets!! I can honestly say I dont see anything that needs to be changed/edited.
Another reason why lancs havent been edited is because theres a limited number of variating skins.
Again, great work Kev!

Very, very good. I love the detail in the rivets.
-
God that's breakin off a chunk of work !!
That would drive me to a rubber room.
Looks great !! I've got a couple of shots of Lanc's at the Wallpaper sight for references in the sig, but you prolly already have them.
Wow. Lotta work. You go !!

Thanks guys.
Got the port wing done, just hope I remember what I did to replicate right wing, lol.

True, those black lines look out of place but if they aren't, you might wanna lighten them up and/or add some weathering to them. Great job though, originality!

Black lines are supposed to be there.
Check pic again, I softened/partially erased bits of them and re-uploaded.
-
Wow, now it looks 100% better, very good Kev!
-
Looks great.
Do the huge four engined bombers just use one 1024x1024 skin, or are they divided into different areas, each with it's own 1024x1024 skin?
-
2 Files for Lanc and B17.

Yikes! That Lanc skin started out as a 256 sized bit map and talk about working in the dark. Glad I didn't tackle one of those. :)
I was wondering about those dark lines myself but it's a Nice Job. Keep up the good work. :aok

OK -
Upper wings, vertcal stabs, upper horizontal stabs complete.
Now dealing with skin mirroring and stretching on engines. Looks like I wont be able to get the detail I wanted done.

Very nice! Looks like you got the rivets just right!
The images below where taken from the top hatch behind the star navigation dome. I notice you've got the black lines along the wings - behind the front line there should be text reading "WALK AFT OF THIS LINE" and before the last line it reads "WALK FORWARD OF THIS LINE" - both viewed from the front. It appears on both wings. Hope this helps?

Any chance you could do 'Mickey The Moocher' of 61 Sqn? (current BBMF Lancaster scheme).

Will give it a go NEXX, just gotta get the upper fuselage and lower surfaces done first. Then individual aircraft be easy.
Major probs with stretching on the engines nacelles, and mirroring/stretching on upper fuselage.
You got the original serial number of the aircraft?
Is it historic?
I believe that the City of Lincoln bit wouldn't have been on original?

The City of Lincoln wouldn't appear on the Lancaster - that just reflects 'Bomber County', i.e. Lincolnshire.
Mickey the Moocher reflects Lancaster III serial number EE176 of 61 (Bomber) Squadron. It was credited with 128 ops although only 115 were marked on the aircraft. You can read more here http://www.airsceneuk.org.uk/hangar/2000/display2000/display.htm and http://www.raf.mod.uk/bbmf/bomber.html
