as soon as i enter game i lose udp and get discoed.. i cant even load the map before it happens.. im on 56k modem any tips?
-
Try entering the game offline first.
From the offline tower, quit then select online.
Hope it helps.

Make sure you have any anti-virus software disabled as well and any other software that might be running in background.
-
im on ME how do you disable it on there?
also any tips on improving FPS? im getting around 15-35 and its jumps around constantly.
i got geforce fx5500
-
Send me a copy of the DXDIAG output and let's see if there is anything that you can do to help the performance.
Unfortunately, ME is a pretty problematic operating system.
-
i keep getting booted the instant i sign on i need help
-
when i enter game i lose update thing and switch to tcp, then get booted.. i dont even have time to get the nme bases on the map.
im running a intel 536EP modem. 56k
PLEASE post back with help tips
-
That's one of the things I can try to address in the DXDIAG output.
If you are not running any anti-virus software, or firewall then I need more information. The DXDIAG is a start.
-
i dunno i havent touched any firewall, how can i tell if there is one?
how can i disable programs on ME i have NO idea where to go to do it.
thanks
-
Try "Start->Run->msconfig".
-
ok skuzzy heres all you need to know
i sign on to my 56k modem at around 49 kbps. i go into ah2 it logs into the MA but i get all green bases, then it loses updates and switches to TCP, then i get booted.
or he other circumstance is that i play about 10 mins and then i get booted, out of ah2 and out the internet.
now could this be a firewall? how would i check for that?
could it be my connection? my modem i got replaced a day ago.
i just NEED some help please.

Ace, for one, if you don't know what the problem is, how do you know what he needs to know? You need to send Skuzzy an output of DXDIAG (DirectX Diagnostic). It will tell him about anything he needs to know about your system.
To get a DXDIAG output, go to Start>Run>DXDIAG
Wait for it to load all of the different areas, then click "Save All Information." You may also want to run all of the tests under each tab before doing so. save dxdiag.txt to your hard drive and email it to support@hitechcreations.com
This is almost the ONLY way to get a problem like this fixed.

could it be my connection? my modem i got replaced a day ago.

now i use to get dropped al the time,,i had a telaphoney 56k modem,,i got tired of getting the lost upd and switched to tcp thing{on aces high 1}i would only get like 10 to 30min and somtimes soon as i log on,,i got the boot
well,,i switched to my old computers us robotics 56k and got rid of the telaphoney modem and i never get the boot now,,,the telaphoney modem was brand new,,but didnt matter it was junk,,so you mite have a bogus modem,,try a freinds or find a modem to switch out and see if it helps hope that helps ya<~~sounds like what i use to go threw
-
thanks hyena im gonna switch it out as soon as i get the chance.. any idea where to get a non telephony modem?
i already did send my dxdiag to skuzzy just waiting for a reply.
-
i have my modem connection put through a power strip and then into the walll.
could there be some kind of firewall or connection limiter in the power strip? it says it has surge protector on there so it might have it i dont know.
-
Ace he is talking about a hardware based modem versus a software based modem.
A hardware based modem is always significantly better than a software based modem. Software based modems eat up CPU time at a high rate and are subject to all the problems related to Windows.
External modems are all hardware based. If you go external, try to get a COM based modem rather than a USB based modem. The UART chip has a lot less overhead than the USB chips does.
-
so i should get a external??? and plug it into where?
-
The COM port. Looks like a small version of the printer port.
