it's done!
"I will lead a bi-partisan effort to simplify the tax code"
LANDSLIDE BUSH!

Agree.
Kerry is screwed... he wasted his acceptance speech with Vietnam references and attacks... meanwhile, Bush has spent the last 15 minutes speaking about tax, employment and home owning programs... and not a single word about Kerry.
Fear not, though! Kerry has scheduled a "Midnight rally" to counter the GOP claims immediately following the convention.
The stentch of desperation is oozing from his pores and his managers have gone off the deep end.
Its over.
Four more years.

That should be good. All geared up to rebut Bush's attacks, but all Bush has done is lay out his plan for his NEXT four years. Something Kerry STILL hasn't done.
-
Sure he has!
More jobs.
Better healthcare.
Better economy.
What a plan, eh? :aok
-
BAH! Now hes mentioned Kerry... I wouldnt have.
At all.
Damn.

It's as good or better than any of the lies he told during his first campaign.
Think I'll use Dubya's own advice here:
"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —George W. Bush, Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

I'm fairly certain the the effect on Nash whether it be Bush or Kerry will be pretty much the same.

That doesn't even make sense, but I don't expect you to understand that.

Who was speaking about an hour ago. I was looking for exciting preseason football action, but could only find the convention. He sounded like James Woods. He spoke before they started playing the greatest hits video from Setp. 11th.

Well, the insinuation was that I somehow have my hopes and dreams tied into a Kerry victory, which is kind of silly since I'm undecided at this point.

Freddy Thompson. An honest politician and a great man.

EDIT: Nevermind - misunderstood. The speaker was Gov. Pataki. Thompson did the voiceovers for the video.

It's been over for 6 months. I have and will continue to claim a landslide for Bush. Kerry is such a pathetic, lying, repulsive person.
No way are Americans fooled by the Kerry weasel persona.
Kerry has run on two things: I am not George Bush and I am a Vietnam Vet.

You would hope no one would buy Kerrys BS, but alas, there will always be sheeple, people that can't make a decision on there own and need a democrat to tell them what to do.

The memo that went out to the speechwriters must have stressed:
"Say the exact same three things in as many different possible ways ever that you can think of. Our goal is 4,768. Good luck and happy speech writing!"

As opposed to the sheep that require a Republican to tell them what to do.
This argument is weak and nothing more than name-calling.

Nash etc: "Awesome speech! Bush is Finished!"
Who says liberals and conservatives disagree!!!

I wonder on the domestic side, some of the wants sound the same as every president since carter. Yet no one , not even the ones I have voted for has made it happen . I sure hope the tax change comes about.
-
What I hate most about taxes is all the damn work involved.
It's like.... you're gonna take my money AND make me think about it? It's basically labour they get for free for my service in trying to figure out how to pay them.
If they DON'T make this stuff easier, at least they oughta pay me for my g'damned time.

I think some of the bureaucrats collecting our tax money figure they are paying us by letting us keep a bit of our earnings.

I think his speech was good. You have to come to the conclusion that you know what you are getting with Bush, or think you know anyway. I'll give him four more years, albeit tentatively. I just feel, with my vote, that I am not getting much of an option. It seems with the strength and wealth of both parties, a third just cannot get started.

You know what? You are seeing that Bush has credibility and that Kerry is joker. You are smart enough to look beyond "party" and see a person as a real person. Kerry, as you KNOW, is a joker.
-
In all seriousness, the "real" campaign begins in several weeks. That is when whatever bounce (if any) Bush receives from the convention decays to its equilibrium level, and we see how successful Republicans were at framing the agenda for the campaign.
Things to consider: Voters retrospectively evaluate incumbents and prospectively evaluate challengers. If Republicans can continue to poll better than Kerry on national security and can keep the campaign focused on Bush's record in that area, I think things go smoothly for them. The new proposals offered by Bush are really just red herrings; they likely won't influence voter evaluations of him.

I have to disagree
Some will be swayed, everyone wants something and he listed something for just about everyone :)
on another note
As for the economy, all it would take is a 60 sec spot, maybe a couple, explaining in laymen terms how the changing world has caused outsourcing and the resulting lost tech & manufacturing jobs in America. He touched on it but not at the level joe six pack can grasp..

Just wait til the democrats get ahold of the govenment, start expanding it, turn the country socialist..then you'd wish that you could have the CHOICE to listen to the republicans and not ENFORCED to listen to the dumbocrats. Look at the kinda stuff they wan't. If they get power we will be the next USSR.

Why do people assume that if you hate Bush you love Kerry? I may be mistaken and Sandman will correct me, he's more a libertarian than anything, so how does socialism fit in there?
I'm not happy with either party and will reflect that with my vote in November, I'm not going to "protest" vote Bush, because I hate him almost less than I hate Kerry. I'm in Oklahoma so I hope there is a third candidate on the ballot, if not the president vote will be blank and the rest will be filled out. Neither of those will represent me and my viewpoints and I don't feel either one deserve my vote. I waited 20 years to vote in a Presidential election and this is all I get? A slow speaking Texan and a monotone monkey from Boston? And by god if Nader made it on the ballot and I didn't know in Oklahoma and he is the 3rd party, he's not getting my vote either.
-
Looking Presidential. Saluting an ex-serviceman in the front row, vs. a weak wrested salute to no-body in particular.
