I thought it addressed a good balance of domestic and security issues. Mild criticism of his opponent's position and record, contrasting it with his own. His joke about his own flaws, specificially about his sometimes less than eloquent use of the English language was a nice touch: "When Arnold Schwartzenager started doing it [correcting his English], I knew I had a problem."
Overall, I'd give it a 7.5 on a scale of 1-to-10, 10 being a homerun.

give it an 8.5
Give Kerry's response -2
Did you notice he got defensive about his war record again (which nobody attacked at the RNC) in his response. They directed people to his SENATE voting record. What an IDIOT

LANDSLIDE BUSH
-
His best speech in 4 years, give it an 8.

What does that average out to so far?

Poor Kerry, he just can't get it right: his followers and handlers have been hammering him to fight back at those disparaging(sp?) his service record, but he had resisted until now. So, expecting Bush to attack him last night he prepares his rebuttal. Only problem, Bush didn't mention Kerry's service record, but stuck important issues of economy, health care and jobs.

I give it 8.5
Like most politician's, a bit vague on the details.
Look at his stated stance on Social Security for example. He's for it, yet he's not.
-
This isn't a dig only against Bush as he's only carrying on a tradition of past Democrat and Republican Administations.
Why aren't the surplusses being given back to those that actually paid into it. Taking my SCI contributions to help pay for the budget is a form of socialism that I don't approve. Either cut spending or raise taxes to pay for the necessary programs. Don't squander the Social Security funds to create a 'facade' of a SCI budget 'deficit'.

It made me weep, he's so dreamy!

For a politician: 7/10.
For Bush: 12/10.

I give it a 2. That was determined by subracting 9 from 11, sticking with the RNC theme. Too bad he took that little Iraq detour.
-
Beginning to believe that you who have been saying landslide Bush may be right. Guess the elections won't have to be canceled after all. ;)
-
Bet you had fun watching the RNC while doing "Homer Simson" Voice overs.

For his steadfastness in the speech, even tho polls show him tied or losing I give him a 9....For the speech overall I give him a 7.8.

Once again John Stewart cut to the chase...
"Bush's speech was chock full of things he would do if he were to be President."
:D

I can't give it a score. I didn't listen to it and won't. I can't stand listening to that guy give a specch. Worst public speaker EVAR. He should just write it down and post it on the intardnet.
He is a lot better in a conversational setting. I bet he would be a lot of fun to party with, once he falls off the wagon again.
