Terrorism
: the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion
(1 : to restrain or dominate by force 2 : to compel to an act or choice 3 : to bring about by force or threat)

Psychiatric Warfare is a means of terroism...

I don't belive I used the right word though, for some reason I lost it in my head...

So, is the US and other Allied nations commiting Psychiatric Warfare upon the Iraqis? Afghans?

And, is Psychiatric Warfare terroism in a milder less bloody form..


And no, I'm not saying hug the terrorists.. Kill all the Terroists, Christian or Muslim..

I can recall training to do naval gunfire support, or NGFS. One of the scenarios in class was to fire the guns in such away to cause fear or deprive the enemy of sleep. It was called harassing fire.

Certainly, with such a loose definition as Webster, this does apply.

Nowadays, I think that the U.S. is in a position where almost no one has the power to take us on in a head to head, toe to toe, traditional conflict. Our enemies our weak. Because they are weak, they will strike where we are undefended. They won't attempt to test our might. They will test our resolve.

hawk the term you are thinking of is Psycological Warfare....Or commonly reffered to as Psi Ops.

This could be as simple as propaganda posters to promote a cause or loud music of "the safety dance" to wear down a hijacker.

I think IIRC the ATF used that at waco.  They played the safety dance 24/7.

I know in panama they played alot of heavy metal music from loudspeakers to scare off alot of the gurillas.


When I was in hawaii doing field exes the we'd be on the OPFOR team and we'd jamm the radio comm w/ barney music.  HIGHLY EFFECTIVE!
