Instead of enable a heavy perk system, can we have the same system than WB ?
One month is 4 weeks, so :
week 1 : plane from 1939-41(late)
week 2 : plane from 1941(late)-1942(late)
week 3 : plane from 1943(early)-1944(late)
week 4 : plane from 1944(late)-1945
With this system, you can have early plane (like BoB, French Campain, Japaness invasion...)and your month will follow the war (excuse my english)...
its just my 2 pens ....

I'd also like to see a rolling plane set like WB has but AH hasen't developed enough planes yet to make it work.
What I'm wondering is if AH will actually introduce a RPS at all...

I like the RPS, too. Gives a player a sense of what it was like to progress to more powerful hardware, and lets early war fans fly their ride in a competitive environment. However, I doubt we'll see an RPS in AH. Since it is a flat rate, players don't have the ability to choose which era they pay for. There would definitely be players who felt they were being short changed because their favorite plane wasn't available all the time.

sure....
seems (and hope... hope ?) there are lots of flames.... hehehe

Actually, you COMBINE RPS and perk points. Perk Points smooth out the bumps in the RPS..rather than artificially delay some of the early-mid war uberplanes till they have legitimate competition, you just perk them when they come out, and gradually reduce their cost as the RPS rolls along till they're unperked.
Man, usually the RPS haters have gotten a vicious flame or threat to quit AH if it happens by now in any thread where someone advocates an RPS....what's up? They all asleep? :-)
-
congrats torgo.. you have combined the two worst ideas into one and made an even worse idea. The confusion and lack of variety of an RPS with the inate unfairness of the idiotic perk idea. Add "axis vs allied" and you have a real disaster.
Look, I like early war as much as anyone but have resigned myself that a very large number will not fly the early planes. RPS makes some lose interest and everyone has a "favorite" that they are restricted from. Mid war (like we have now) is a decent comprimise for now... The best would of course be...
early, mid and late war areas within the same arena. All choice all the time. Planes could be introduced with ease... No need (or excuse) at all for any kind of idiotic perk "powerup".

geographically? or on different servers?
A really big map with 1945 in one corner and 1940 in the other?

geographic ............pfffffffffff
bad idea....

ok... two questions:
1) Anyone know when/if WB III is coming out?
2) Will they have a flat rate?
:P

Effdub, go here http://agw.dogfighter.com/ (http://agw.dogfighter.com/) and spend a week or so reading all the current and past negative topics about RPS's, the HA and EA setups.
Then come back and <punt> your comment with your thoughts. If you still feel your not getting value for your money here then cancell your HTC account, go back to AGW, ask those two questions there and then you can wait, and wait, and wait, and wait....untill WB3 comes out. When you find it's the same old, same old as WB's is right now, different suit of clothes same body, coem back and peek in the window here to see where AH has moved on to; feature and aircraft wise.

I've stayed out of this argument for most of it because I'm pretty satisfied with AH and the progress they've made, but I would really like to know what it was like to fly p-40's and p39's, p47's against zeros and early axis aircraft. I'd like to see an early war plane set developed with only 2 countries, one side allied and one side axis. Maybe doing it only occasionally for a week at a clip, one week out of one month pac and one week out of the next month euro.
I realize that's what scenarios are for but they come few and far between and are often at times that are not convenient for everyone and even then, you dont get to fly the ride you want, you fly the ride you are assigned. Tod's and weekend snapshots have very limited participation. My 2cents.

Westy, thnx for the link (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Iceman's post about the new RPS was very interesting - basically the only ones whining were the "I only fly P-51 D" dudes who now have 1 or 2 days less to fly their fav plane...
I used to fly the LW planes in WB so I have no problem with that... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
It's now a choice of which whine you want to listen too:
1) AH's whining about the F4U1-C/ Niki or,
2) WB's whining about the limited availability of the P-51 D... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
What is the Me109 F-4 doing in AH's plane set (amoungst other early/mid war planes)? I really enjoyed flying the F-4 in WB because it was a fine plane in it's time frame, but in AH there's no point in flying it - or is there?
I checked the plane vs plane stats for the Me109 F-4 in tour 12... some people actually do fly it here but what's the point? Is it that you can outturn some other planes because they assume you are flying the G-10? Do you enjoy the handicap?
Or would you enjoy flying the F-4 more if you diden't have to compete against late war planes?
I really don't understand why sim pilots would NOT want an RPS... getting a chance to battle it out Me109 E vs Spit1, Me109 F vs Spit 5, Fw190D-9 vs Spit14 is just much more entertaining than flying the C-Hog from day one me thinks....
But then again, I'd rather listen to Rush than Britney Spears and we all know who sells more albums... long live the pressure of the market place (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

pongo i prefer geographicaly but several arenas would be second best IF, and only if, the "maps" and radar etc. for all arenas was accesable from any other but.... As it is, our map has, IMO, an excess of fields. certainly three uncapturable ones in a corner for early war would be a small thing. They could be ina canyon part for beat results with a little water at the edge for carriers.
Axis vs allied get's old quick even with the most planes/mid war era.. early war the variety of fighting is so limited by axis vs allied as to be useless for all but the most brain ded. early and late axis vs allied fights degenerate into 1 or 2 types fighting one or two types. mid is slightly better but still lacking in variety.

Effdub,
The problem with the RPS is that you end up with Bf109E-4 vs. Bf109E-4, then Fw190A-5 vs. Fw190A-5 and then finally Spitfire MkXIV vs. Spitfire MkXIV. Unless you set it in a HA, and that introduces a whole new set of problems, such as most people flying for the side with the better aircraft.

I am one of those "only fly the p51" type of guys. But i would seriously love an RPS. HTC needs to add alot more early warplanes to even consider doing it.
I'd fly the Mustang Mk III with the Malcom hood from 1942 all the way through - stuff the D model, its slower, heavier, and turns worse.
Before then i'd be forced to fly a 109 or something. But thats cool, its all relative.

Karnak, I never minded fighting Me109E's in "my" Me109E, and I really enjoyed flying in the HA - actually those HA battles were amoungst the most intense (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
In AH I usually fly the Spit 9 and am quite fond of spit vs spit duels (Salute Rafbader (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) since it boils down to pilot vs pilot and not plane performance...
Bottom line is I'd rather see a 109E vs 109E duel than 109G-10 vs 109F-4...
