Title: Mission Editor.. a request!
Post by: Hangtime on January 06, 2001, 11:51:00 AM
Seems that as somebody else noted; MA mayhem is the rule; definition of a team objective is lacking.

How about changing the mission editor to allow more than one mission at a time being posted from the same guy?

Example.. I had a mission under way to capture the port. I also needed to set up a second mission about 10 minutes after the first got airborne to organize a fleet attack, and needed a third to strike 2 fields.. basicly an entire battle plan for the bish to work on.. rather than one puny little mission.

Unfortunately the Mission planner won't allow more than one mission plan at a time up on the board from the same author, and the planner cannot be accesed or editited in flight.

I'd sure like to start a Bishland Squadnight MA trouncing; where we could get 3 or more Bish squads up on the same evening, with full attack plans and missions up for each of the squads, all with their own objectives inside a larger MA battle plan. Splitting the objectives up into smaller easier to understand seperate missions would keep the country's objectives manageble. One things for sure... large complicated single missions don't work; they take to long to put up; and are usually about 20 minutes outta sync with the tactical situation... let alone the mass confusion..

The fix.. an ability to post Multiple Missions by same author and have access to the planner and editor when in flight.

On a good note; the current planner is significantly easier to use than the old one.. WTG HTC!

What do you guys think?

Great idea. And perhaps let folks who link up on more than one in a row have thier successful mission points acrue.

I would like to see the ability to join a mission while in flight. When the mission starts your yanked outta the air and plopped down on the runway like always. I know it might suck if your in a good fight but you might also be fixing to get your bellybutton kicked. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I dont join alot of missions simply becuase Im already 1/2 way to a target or in the middle of a furball when I hear about them. If I could access the mission editor in flight this could be solved. Anyway just my $00.02

How about a white text message in country channel to say "Mission "name" is ready to join" and it would repeat every few minutes.

I thought that the mission editor looked like a good tool but I never saw anybody use it when I was playing in the arena.  If it could be made more "upfront" and obvious/easy to apply maybe it would get more use.  I tried to get a small mission together a couple of times and these resulted in cooperative bomber pilots but the escort cut out half way through-which left a couple of us wondering why bother.  Maybe if folks sign on for a mission and ditch it they should get negative points.

I would lke to see the editor get a little from what the AW editor had. It would be nice if the waypoints were numbered and the author of the mission could put some more detail text for each of the points. Without the benefit of a closed breifing room to get everyone organized, it is difficult to get everybody to really understand what you have in mind for certain portions of the mission.

Good idea, i had no idea that it had that limitation.

I would just like to see more people using it - its alot of fun and very satisfying when your missions suceed.
