Something interesting happened last night to the 13th TAS. We were sweeping the skies around A9 when I recieved a message from a bud re: you guys are being hunted.
Apparently a squad grabbed P-51's and went a huntin our hides. Frankly, I was taken back by this blatant hostile act!
Soon after, my squaddies and I noticed a tight formation of 51's at 32k!!! That's right, 32K! There was only one course of action to be taken....we all rtb'd and logged for the evening. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

i was cruisin along at about 25k and looked up - "what the $%#@!" there was a squad of p51s like 10k ft above me - a few minutes later saw only dots whoa - glad to see i wasn't *hallucinating (*very badly) (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Hehe Ice...Hate to burst your bubble, but we weren't hunting the 13th specifically, but we always like tangling with you guys. They are always good fights <S>. Of course when we knew the Bish were there and ponies in the area it did enter our minds that the 13th was close by!! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Anyway, the Musketeers decided to do a fighter sweep out of 10 up to 9 to clear it out of all those smelly Bish! (We had flown a sortie ealier with the AK's and were jumped at low level by Spits, Nikis and 109's <S> JC and company on those fights!) And <S> to the AK's. It was fun flying that fighter sweep!
So this time we decided to enter the combat area at 25k when a squaddie who was out front as scout called out 2 high bandits at 30k!! (Funny thing was, we were saying the same thing on RW....just how darn high to you have to get!!)
Welp, we knew we had to climb. The first 2 bandits were indeed at 30k...a Spit and a 109 (I think the 109 was Udie??). I have no idea what the spit was doing up that high.
Then we ran into a couple of ponies at or near 29k.
Anyway, from our perpsective, a long chess game for position played out and it was alot of fun actually. Saw co-alt ponies, 109's and Jugs.
You did get a couple of our guys, and we took couple of Bish with us too. All in all it was alot of fun. <S>
Look forward to locking horns with the 13th again!

<S>Cobra! That fighter sweep was definately fun. I think of the 8 AKs that went up, we managed 6 total kills with 1 loss. It was one of the most unusual sorties I've ever been on. Different is always a kick!

I believe the 109 was me. I was at 30k minding my own business searching for the ever present bomber hordes last night when I heard fish call out high p51's ...30k plus. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/eek.gif) I turned southward and it was quite an awesome sight...many P51's coming towards me at a great rate of knots. Knew there was no point in running against 51's so went straight through them and kept going...never looked back (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) .
