Title: Zoom-in on bases
Post by: TBolt A-10 on September 05, 2004, 04:21:23 AM
One thing AW had that I miss is the players' ability to zoom in on any base on the map so that we could see the layout of that particular base (ie: direction of runways, etc).  Adding this feature to AH2 would REALLY help bomber pilots plan their missions.  And, it's almost a necessity now that these huge maps are being re-incorporated into the game; there are so many airfields...kind of hard to remember the specifics of each one.

Thank you!

:)

Thank you for a link to your maps, Easy.

DRED, when you zoom on an airfield on the current map, you don't see the rwy direction of the field or any other detail.  The feature that I'm proposing would allow us to see the true rwy heading, etc. right on the map.

I guess I'll just have to create my own list of airfields with their sector and rwy position.  Not sure I have the time for that, though.  lol

Thanks.

There are 3 airfield layouts; small, medium and large.  By looking at the fields Icon, you can tell which size field you're dealing with and then use a field map to note the runways headings and strat locations.

So far, only the Ports vary in orientation and require you to use the port number to determine which map you need.

It’s clear the Vehicle base could be rotated when the new terrain editor is released but so far they all face the same way.
